No it shouldn’t smoke much after the first couple of drives.

You took out the race just to clean did you put it back or you dont need it with the new kit confused.

All the bearings and races were installed and reused. Only the seal was replaced. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm currently stuck on the part where you used a slide hammer lol any diy recommendations?

yikes I don't know how you would do it without some type of slide hammer. maybe rent one from an auto parts store. I scratched my head for awhile before I landed on the set up I used.

@whatsnextgarage this is my first automotive project I've done and il get through the first part wich was draining the differential so I can put new gear oil, wich took me two days, and I didn't know if I moved my jack stands up it would give me more room by dropping the axle more. And today I got my caliper and all the bolts off now.im stuck on the rotor, and the other video I watched the guy just calmly pulls his off 😂 I have alot of tools from construction but don't know anything about cars. Your video has help me alot for this project.

Sorry I didn’t see this🤦. I am not sure but I think I remember the splines have a “key” type install where it will only go in one way because the spline grooves are specific to installing.

Good lord, reman axle housing complete, $400. This is one of those repairs that just ain't worth it.
