These things are like the ultimate blend of reliability and luxury, and they don’t require premium gas like other luxury SUVs they compete with.

@@DMCarReviews I have to agree with you when I was younger. The reason why I always loved Lexus so much as first was because of the wood and leather steering wheel. It always stood out to me and I remember I always wanted that.

In high school, i had a 2000 4runner, one of my friends had a V6 2000 camry, and my other friend had a 2000 RX300. Driving the camry and the rx back to back, it was amazing how much slower the rx was with the added weight and awd. And the turning radius sucks in these. That said i love this era Toyota.
@DMCarReviewsАй бұрын
I didn't notice it being noticeably slower than a 2000 Camry. Maybe within 1 second of each other.
@GXKid06Ай бұрын
@@DMCarReviews back to back the response is way slower. Also we raced then. And this Lexus can only make a u turn on a 3 lane road cause it’s super wide turn radius.
@clutchfilms24fps15 күн бұрын
@@GXKid06 You're right about the U-turn; it does have its flaws. However the RX 300 was never designed to be a performance car. It's a first crossover from those big unibody SUVs, luxury AWD vehicle, and for its size. The engine may not be the quickest, but it has plenty of torque, you'd be amazed to see how off-road enthusiasts in places like Russia and Cambodian jungles pushing them over elephant trails . For a vehicle of its size, the RX 300 offers a surprisingly smooth, buttery fun driving where you can speed like modern day sedan with a blend of solid AWD capabilities . These early gens were built in Japan ,The design was aimed at 90s luxury buyers who wanted the feel of a truck but with a classier, more refined ride.
@GXKid0614 күн бұрын
@ yea but my 2000 4runner was taller and has much bigger tires yet it could make a ur turn way tighter than the RX. They had the technology and they dropped the ball on that one.
@clutchfilms24fps14 күн бұрын
4runners are great cars my friend , i personally never had issues in terms of turns with the RX, i am not sure where you drive at , I've lived in nyc and drove a lot of different types of machines and rentals under the sun, especially as a reliable crossover that handles city driving with ease. My RX even at nearly 25 years old, still delivers that “butter smooth” ride then most newer vehicles on the road ,while it’s not built for the hardcore off-roading capabilities of a 4Runner, in NYC’s tight streets and parking spots, the RX’s compact yet comfortable design is a major advantage. -a true all-rounder beater in current times! , plus the price ranges on these things are ridiculously good in comparison to the overhyped 4runners! if your gono compare the 4runner with something similar gear towards utilitarian then comfort and luxury the Lexus GX470s is probably a better choice .

I remember when I was younger I’ve always been car obsessed but it was when it was time to trade in my mom‘s minivan and she was looking for an SUV and I remember we went to Lexus and I think we looked at the RX 300 it was too small, and I remember us looking at the LX 470 which I liked so big and roomie and comfortable. unfortunately, the salesman turned off my father because he said that compared to Lexus, Toyota used second and third grade parts and my dad did not like that at all whatsoever, so he ended up purchasing a brand new 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser. It literally was the same thing just not as luxurious as the Lexus model, but we had that Land Cruiser for nine years with that nice growly V8 it drove smooth. I’ll always appreciate that land cruiser because that’s what I learned to drive in. I currently own a 2010 Lexus ES 350 and I am obsessed with it. I will only drive Lexus vehicles. The reliability, quality, is amazing and you can’t break a 2GR-FE 3.5 V6 engine!
