I agreed with the next to last pitch. Yes, a ball. I was using that as a comparison to the last pitch. Which was even more outside the zone. Freeze it at 1:10 or 1:11. The catcher is reaching across the plate into the other box, his arm is turned around, and glove is down. The pitch is so far outside the catcher has to turn his left leg to reach the pitch. Yes, this is ankle-biter ball, but that pitch was a ball. The catcher either has to stick that sooner, or ball it.

Yeah, you've got a perfect angle to make this call.

If this is the regionals then you should have consistent plate work. Next to last pitch is called a ball, seems over the plate but F2 is taking it off shoe tops. Next pitch he rings him up. Same height (it seems) but F2 is reaching ACROSS his body, outside to glove the pitch. This would have to be a ball. It would have been "easier" to get a stike on the previous pitch. If I have a catcher reaching across his body, AND the pitch is outside AND low, ummm its a ball.

Actually, his head is in the same spot...if you look at the backdrop, the lower metal pole and his head is split with the mats...seems pretty consistant there. The last pitch...looks like it breaks down and to the left...if you're making calls based on the catcher, you will not succeed...although the catcher can be used as a tool, you should not rely on him.
