Here is the review of my 2003 Nissan Xterra. It’s been in the family so long it just seemed right to do a quick review of it. Please like, share, and subscribe. Thank you. Email: gearrunner24@gmail.com IG: gear_runner...

2003 Xterra SE/SC 4x4 Auto with leather seats. I have two of them sitting at around 120K miles. Solar Yellow and Silver Ice Metallic. Gas mileage sucks, but that turning radius! Thanks for showing the bare roof. Been wanting to dynamat the roof on mine so it was good to see behind the liner for reference. I had my choice of vehicles and specifically chose the Gen1 Xterra. Not a Landrover, Jeep, FJ40, Toyota truck or a Porsche Cayenne, but an Xterra. Reliable and parts are readily available if you do need them.

MrHellfinger Mine has been a good vehicle up until that guy blew my motor. It’s still a good vehicle but it has a few quirks now that it didn’t before.

Thanks man.. my daughter's been in dire need of a car because their current one is a jalopy and I really want to keep her in an SUV... I've had an 03 and 04 Pathfinder the past, I've had good experiences with them and turned out to be excellent. So I came across a 2003 Nissan Xterra Marketplace.... but 240k Mi on the ticker. Thinking about pulling the trigger on it, your video definitely helped. Feel more confident with 03 model than an 05 and up. Thanks again, great video

Running without a headliner results in lots of wind noise on the highway. The solution I came up with for mine, was to throw away the fabric part of the headliner, spray paint the rigid core of the headliner the interior color, and reinstall. It has a rough texture, but I am satisfied with this almost free solution.

ckbrin66 Nice, Thank you for the idea. I may have to do that.

Man, Ive always had a soft spot for xterras, looking at picking one up just to play around with up in the hills and not beat up my tundra too much.

sounds like a great vehicle. I'll share this with my brother he's thinking of getting a supercharged 05

Rebel Rouser I don’t not have much experience with the SC versions. I do know they don’t get as good of gas mileage.
@justindavis59836 жыл бұрын
Gear Runner even worse gas mileage, wow!

I love that there is no headliner

EDGE everyday I may leave it out. It does get warm in there without the insulation of the head liner

I just got a 2003 Xterra. I was wondering about the steering. I haven't driven a Nissan truck in many years, so I wasn't sure if it was supposed to feel a little stiff like that. I was surprised. It's a lot more stiff than my 1987 F250. But the turning radius is great. I think it's within 1 ft of my 2000 Elantra, which this replaces because I hit a deer. I'm 6'2". I don't mind the seat position, but I hit my knees on the steering wheel often when getting in, even tilted all the way up.

Just saw a 2002 on FB marketplace for $650. Based off of your review, I think I'm going to buy it
@gearrunner4 жыл бұрын
mikeinbmore Nice, that’s a pretty low price. I think mine sold for $3,500

@@gearrunner spoke with the owner and it's going to need transmission work, so it will end up costing about the same

I have a 2004 xterra. Solid truck. Bought it with 174k now it has 204k. Only issues I had were the starter going to due to leaking valve cover gasket. Took car of that valve cover and starter. Haven’t had issues since.

there is someone near me selling a 2003 xterra with 160k miles and no history of accidents. thinking of buying it. just got my drivers license last week (as of this post) and my dad says not to go to a lot. the xterra seems like a good first car.

Hello. I have an 02’ Xterra that needs tires before the winter. How do you like those Toto’s?
@gearrunner5 жыл бұрын
George Custanzza I love my Toyos. They ride really well. I drove it in the snow last year and they go good in the snow also.

I stapled camoflauge netting to my headliner, it looks like how it barely shows the tan headliner and it doesn't sag anymore

I had a pathfinder (the bigger brother to it) original owner with 330k miles. Only hiccup other than regular maintenance was like yours, the head gasket leaking.. Those older Nissans are tanks. If you found the Xterra to be a good vehicle, why didn't you stick with Nissan and buy a Titan?
