Steve Pedersen made the biggest mistake ever by getting rid of Frank Solich.

The worst part was the guy he hired to replace Solich, Bill Callahan, who was never a good fit for Nebraska at all. I compared that to when Michigan hired Rich Rodriguez to replace Lloyd Carr, it just didn't make sense and didn't fit;

Jamal Lord was the best running back on the team. He was a HORRIBLE quarterback.

Agreed. Seems like a great guy but he should've been at I-Back.

Whenever I watch games from my teams' pasts, I inevitably wonder "Where so-and-so is today?" or, "What happened to him?". In this case, I wondered whatever happened to Patrick Kabongo (monstrous, at 6'6", 315 lbs., then!). He seemed like just the kind of player NFL teams would covet. Well, as a matter of factly (haha), he did wind up playin' pro football: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Kabongo

This staff never got a chance, wish this Nebraska staff could of got the chance to do something. Stupid Pederson really screw Solich along with greed Alum and fans.

It really is a sad thing. We’ll see what happens with the ndsu guys at KSU. They’re kinda the bloodline that’s left at a p5 school.

You wont give up will you. This 16-12 slump is directly attributable to Solich. Peterson was spot on in firing him. 21 seasons now. A losing bowl record and only 1 conf championship.

@@robjohnson8861 Solich was the 6th winningest coach in the country when he was fired and he had two very good 1st year coordinators in place. I'm not a huge Frank fan, but in retrospect, the day he was fired was the day Nebraska football died.

@@hawkishOwl2020 stop wasting my time. You know nothing about him. Neb football died during the CO game. 2-3 in bowls at neb, 1-9 on the road against ranked teams, 0-9 against conf . He was good with osborne's recruits then tanked with his own

This was about 1 1/2 years after Paterno had been told of the shower incident and thought it was all behind him. At least he died a broken enabler.
