Just curious why you took the oil out and then replaced it on the compressor? Could one just leave the oil in the compressor that it comes with? Also do you have to replace the condensor when a compressor needs replaced or is it just recommended?

Although not required, it is recommended to drain the factory oil and refill with new. I also did partially to ensure I had the UV tracing oil throughout the entire system. In general, when a compressor seizes up it has a tendency to shoot metal fragments down the lines into the condenser which will clog it up. The A/C system on this vehicle had not be in operation for more than 10 years. I suspected that metal fragments were also pushed into the evap coil. However, I first replaced the condenser and compressor and was still having problems so I ended up having to replace the entire A/C system. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGGsZ6aBp6aSm6c
