2003 Volvo XC90 Part 37 - ABS sensor ring

I had the ABS light come on and a couple of error messages relating to the ABS. The scan tool showed 4 ABS fault codes one of which pointed to the right front ABS sensor. Rather than just charging in and changing the sensor, I first checked the live data and both front ABS sensor were reading the same speed so I suspected the ABS senor ring. A visual insepction showed that it had seen better days so I ordered a new one from GSF Car Parts. The bolts that secure the steering knuckle to the strut were fighting me and the lower one wouldn't come undone so I elected to try clenaing the ABS sensor ring in situ. Unfortunaltely it didn't work. I also found out that there is a small tear in the outer CV boot so that will have to be replaced but that is a job for another day and another video and I'll change the sensor ring at the same time. Not the result I was hoping for but that is the reality of the situation.

Might be a good option just to buy a good used OEM CV axle. You still have to remove the axle to regrease and reboot it. Good channel for xc90 P2 owners, thank you for making these videos. Cheers!

There was no need to replace the driveshaft. It will be in the next video. I agree that used genuine/OEM parts tend to be better than new aftermarket ones.

Clean it mate the Cambus system on our p2's is a nightmare at times. The rings play up if you go through a muddy wet road
