oFailBoat 2 point slow baby. Reliable as all hell. I like the drive ability of the 03 1.8t but it’s not as fuel efficient or reliable as your 2.0. Take care of that thing. Coil packs, spark plugs, make sure your motor mounts and suspension is good and she’ll go forever.

had this car since 2006 and i've paid my fair share in repairs. 161k miles now, 2 alternators, water pump & timing belt, fuel pump, and all the usual maintenance...seemingly all the main components except the transmission and engine. it needs new control arms but I'm not spending on that. ah well, it's been okay to me other than costing me a small fortune in repairs. will drive it into the ground.

For those reading now, that's the fuel pump. Mine died in my 2004 with same symptoms. Cost $468 at a shop to replace.

Nicole Lane YOOO WHAT. YOU COULDVE LEGIT DONE THAT YASELF AND SAVED SO MUCH. Fr fr I never suggest home repair but dude, they just lifted your rear seat, unscrewed the fuel pump and replaced it 🤣 I mean it’s literally plug and play (with a little bit of careful prying/jiggling)

I have a 2003 GLI exactly like the one in the video except black. To date I've only replaced the cooling fans and thermostat. Everything else is original at 160,000 miles / 15 years old including the brake pads, a/c, radiator, alternator, etc. There were some minor door lock issues once also, but I've never been stranded, never had an outrageous repair bill.. I couldn't ask for a more reliable car, but I've also treated it right.
@matthewbrown93365 жыл бұрын
@@marinoda08 Many people don't understand the importance of treating your car well, and then they blame every issue that pops up on the car, and they don't accept responsibility for neglecting the car!

Matthew Brown facts. I just got mine and mechanic said all the hoses need to be changed ASAP. This definitely Honda or Toyota these cars HAVE TO BE TAKEN CARE OF OR ELSE. It’s worth it the way it rides and don’t get me started on that powerful sound system
