2003 yamaha kodiak 400 4x4 cvt goodyear belt and gatorback ZQ

I bought a gatorback belt , by goodyear for my quad , and it rubbed a holes through my case , before I could even put 20 miles on it . I had to get towed back , and I am still having problems with Goodyear paying for my case, and reimbursing me for there belt . I strongly suggest not to purchase this brand of belt .

I'm guessing what happened is when you put that clutch kit in, it had a shim/spacer for the primary sheave, that's all fun and games for low-end but it has the side effect of making the belt ride higher in the secondary and the 400-450 kodiaks are already very close to the cover. The maximum shim i can put in mine is 1.55mm then it starts to rub the cover... So check that!

I don't follow. The shim kit only effects the clutch and it makes the belt ride LOWER.

Which clutch kit did you purchase from EPI? The sport utility series or the competition stall? I only seen two kits listed for the Kodiak 400 on their web page.

I have an 02 400 4x4 and i can't go over 20 mph. I'm going to pull cover off today and try to diagnose. I could use any help full input, thank you in advance.

How do u hold the clutch to take it apart buy hand wrenches without an impacked

you bought the wrong belt,

Ya Ya.... Blame it on the belt... LOL Next time take it to someone who knows what there doing. I use Goodyear on all my ATVs and I have never had a problem and they perform alot better than the OE belts. Booyahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that belt is too big. i recently put a gates belt on mine and it works great. the belt you have is way bigger than the one i used. the gates was a 1/4 inch shorter than stock

your stupid the goodyear belt failed , and any stupid person can put on a belt including you , and the epi belt did the same thing , but the stock belt was good . ask any one else that know about atv , about stock belt and aftermarket belt ( JUNK )
