Thank you for this video, and the one about restoring headlights. Did both on my 2004 TSX yesterday and I am tickled with the results. My first time doing anything like this. I watched both videos about 20 times and kept trusting your advise. If anything--- add more commentary. Really appreciated you having these posted.

Thanks! I'm glad to see these have been helpful to other TSX owners. I'm sure I'll have more videos about this car in the future, as I plan on keeping it for a long time.

oh. and I bought a like new, used set of JDM or EDM, not sure, they may be the same, but they're different than the USDM headlights. have clear corners. Picked em up for $130 for the pair, with the bulbs, the hid stuff, everything.

thats a killer deal, you cant even find scratched up USDM ones for that price

Oh man, this is SUCH a useful video - I'm from England and our equivalent of this car is the Honda Accord - I need to replace the grille on mine as well as investigate why my bumper is a little loose, now I am confident to do what you've shown and also check out what rust issues I'll have :) Thank you sooooo much. PS - do you have any videos on how to remove the plastic splash shield that protects the underside of the engine ?

Thanks for watching! Sorry I do not have a video for removing the splash shield.

Totally unrelated, i live in Texas and rarely see seized and/or rusted fasteners. I once owned a 2001 Accord that spent most of its life in Massachusets. I am scarred for life after doing the clutch on it. This video triggered my PTSD. Def needs a trigger warning. /s Big help in removing my TSX bumper, though. Thanks!!

Nice video. Do you have any suggestions on clips or screws to secure a 2005 tsx bumper to make it difficult to remove/steal.
@6thGearGarage4 жыл бұрын
Maybe instead of some of the plastic fasteners, you could use a threaded metal nut/bolt with washers?

Do you have links or part numbers for the different clips and stuff? That plastic under my bumper came off on a back road pull, got caught and yanked my bumper half way off.

@6th Gear Garage, i own a 2007 honda accord cl7.. and i was wondering if it would fit if i were to remove my custom grille that has been damaged and replace it with an Accord Type S model grille of the same year.. or would i have to replace the whole bumper in order for it to fit? Thanks.

I can't say 100% but there's some fitment info in this ebay listing (not mine) www.ebay.com/itm/Oem-Front-Grille-Type-S-Embelm-06-07-HONDA-Type-S-ACCORD-CL7-CL9-ACURA-TSX-/192495064726

Still got your TSX? I have 2 black 2006 6 speeds. 1 perfect mechanically, I've spent a year restoring it, but the chassis is rusty. Got another black one with bad engine, Swapping all my stuff off the rusty IN car to the clean TX chassis. Your videos are entertaining and helpful, thank you

No unfortunately I sold it when I got an 80 series land cruiser, needed something bigger. I sure do miss my TSX though. One day I'd like to get another, 6 speed of course.

You can go to the Acura Dealer, or I have seen generic clips on ebay/amazon for much less $$.

Same as us in Ontario Canada. they use a chemical worse than salt which destroy your brakes rotors.

Hi, have you ever had a problem with those fog lights and had to replace the fog light relay?? Im working on my CL7 accord euro r, my fog lights are dead, I checked the fuses, no fuse blown, tried new bulbs, still not working, tested fog light wires and theres no power so next thing I could think of is relay...only thing is I dont have the slightest idea where its loction is on my model, so before I start ripping my dash apart tell me would you know where your relay is located on your tsx? thanks mate. Cheers good vids too!! Subscribed
@6thGearGarage6 жыл бұрын
I haven't experienced any problem with the fog lights other than one being cracked by a stone. Usually the relay is somewhere near the fuse box in the footwell.

Great video. Very detailed. But how the hell do you get them rusted bolts off without damaging the plastic!? Even getting them to the point they snap, with only the plastic bumper for strength causes me pain.
@buckgb7 жыл бұрын
Yeah...I angle grinded it off lol
@6thGearGarage7 жыл бұрын
Very carefully! I grab the clip from the back with vise grips and turn them from the front until they break off. Or angle grinder works too!!
@RHAD-sy3oi4 жыл бұрын
For rusted bolts try using an impact driver or an impact wrench. The rapid hi-torque hammer-like pulses will often break stuck bolts free when a steady pull with a wrench will not. Also, an impact wrench can apply way more torque than you are able to - and apply it in faster pulses. The rapid pulsing creates a hammering torque effect that seems to go straight to the bolt before the plastic parts have a chance to start getting twisted up.

Do you have a fender removal video? The great Ohio weather caused me to slide into a guardrail
@6thGearGarage7 жыл бұрын
I haven't had to remove a fender on the TSX yet, but I bet it is the same as most Hondas. Bolts along the top in the engine bay, one at the top and bottom of the door jamb, maybe one more under the fender, behind the front wheel. Then make sure the plastic wheel well splash guard isn't attached. The only place where the TSX is going to be a pain is there is a plastic nub on the backside of the headlight, behind the turn signal that goes into a bolt sized hole in the fender, holding it in place. You may have to slide the headlight forward an inch to get past that, which sucks because it means taking off the bumper cover to loosen the headlight bolts,

I couldn't find a part number for it on google, but I think it's called the metal bolt retainer.
@GSWarriors976 жыл бұрын
6th Gear Garage Okay thank you! I replaced my fog lights with the bumper partially off. That part I asked you about was seized on the bumper and kept spinning
@6thGearGarage6 жыл бұрын
It's a very common issue with those metal retainers. Some manufacturers use a plastic retainer that breaks easily when removed. Acura uses a metal one that seizes together and is a pain to remove.
