The 55th and final win of Rusty Wallace's career.

This was enjoyable to watch again! I haven’t watched this race since it aired in 2004. It’s a race that’s aged well some 18 years later.

I could watch a Martinsville race every week

Martinsville is maybe NASCAR’s Fenway. That or Darlington. The history, the prestige, and excitement sometimes for this track is unreal. Especially the Fall race now.
@stevorules1820 Жыл бұрын
I'd say Daytona would be Fenway but Martinsville, Darlington and Bristol are Wrigley Field.

Bobby Wawak also was an unlockable driver in NASCAR Thunder 2004. He passed away before the race weekend.

The day the track hit Jeff Gordon
@badbooking32215 жыл бұрын
In my humble opinion Jeff should have been allowed to fix his car under the red because it was a special circumstance. Regardless he drove from like 20th to 6th purely on the racetrack, which is an extremely hard feat at Martinsville.

@@badbooking3221 For sure. Just like the cable Coke 600 issue.

I missed watching a significant portion of this race even though I had two different Fox affiliates on my TV at the time. KMSP (Fox 9) of Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN interrupted regular programming to cover numerous tornado watches and warnings in the area. WEUX (Fox 48) of Eau Claire, WI was knocked off the air completely, presumably due to bad weather.

I remember watching this race. I was 11 years old and I remember the long red flag, I went outside and relaxed.

As a life long Rusty fan, I had to work this day. I asked my Dad to record it. Because of the red flag, the finish was cut off. I only saw my drivers final win because of KZbin.
Remember when the Fox commentators only said "free pass" and the NBC and TNT commentators only said "Lucky Dog".

I was sitting on the start-finish line! Great race! Gordon was tearing up the Track! Literally! #24 should have been allowed to fix the car and kept his position!

Had Jr hit the concrete they would’ve gave him his spot on the track back. Because it was Jeff Gordon and they needed him to stop winning around this time they penalized them

I'm so glad that they never decided bank this track. I love the racing here but even short tracks are a dying breed on the NASCAR circuit. Everything's going to the mile and a half cookie cutter tracks. Atlanta, Charlotte, Texas, Chicagoland. Kansas, Kentucky, Vegas. Soon it'll only be Daytona, Talladega and the rest will be tracks resembling these listed above. Bristol was really cool Back in the late 80's and early 90's. Don't get me wrong. I like the newer configuration. Nascar will be defunct by 2030 if something isn't changed for the better. Now will Brain France gone maybe there's hope. I despise the segment racing. The play off your points system. It was better before he took over
@JJA19875 жыл бұрын
Short Tracks are not a dying breed when fans are saying more short tracks on the sch and it wont be only Daytona or Dega.

NASCAR isn't going anywhere. If anything they want to add more short tracks.
@josiahmanown3934 жыл бұрын
Im just getting back into nascar after about 15 years (im 28 years old). I prefer the short tracks to the speedways. I think they should just keep Daytona and Talladega, keep everything else short or middleground like Ponoco or Michigan. #doitfordale

@@josiahmanown393 i agree...each track needs to have a personality. Segmented racing really irks me to be honest and i truly believe that will go away eventually.
@mtchcrtrmm92994 жыл бұрын
Thank God, it seems your prediction is going in the wrong direction lol. Chicago and Kentucky gone, now we just need a few more short tracks.
