@@carlosv9208 I’m not sure it’s comparable. A walkoff win should deliver excitement comparable to that of an overtime goal. Doc’s call fit the moment: the home team was excited, hockey nation as a whole was tense, but we knew what the outcome of game six was. There would be one game left to decide it all. Here we have the home team walking off in the twelfth with a home run, on the brink of increasing their 86 year skid by a year. Completely different

Game 4 - It's okay, we got them tomorrow Game 5 - Uh oh, at least the series is back in New York Game 6 - You have got to be kidding me, Game 7? Game 7 1st Inning - Jesus, down 2-0 already? Game 7 2nd Inning - YOU JUST GAVE UP A GRAND SLAM TO JOHNNY DAMON?! Game 7 Final - I really can't believe that this just happened, will sting me for years October 2018 - Yep, still hurts to see clips from that postseason, and the Yankees have once again fell victim to the Red Sox October 2021 - The Yankees have fallen to the Red Sox AGAIN 😩

I was there as well, but had to leave after 9 innings because I took a bus to the game and the buses don't run past 12:30 AM or so. Your ticket would have looked like it said "Game 2", but on closer inspection it would have said, "Home Game 2", which of course was game 4 in this case. My stub is a season ticket holder version that has a specific date on it instead of a game number.

I remember this all so vividly. Before Game 3, I got the dreaded call every child fears. In the early morning my father had been rushed to the hospital. I listened to the bloodbath that was Game 3 on my way to the hospital 3 hours away. However, he rallied. I was home for the rest of the ALCS. The night of Game 1 of the WS, I’d just gotten to work. I got the call that Dad was in trouble again. Again, I rushed down. Again, he rallied. I watched Game 1 at my parents house, as Dad was hospitalized. I drove home during game 2, the 2nd bloody sock game. During that time it became obvious Dad wouldn’t recover. My sister and mother watched the Sox win the Series with my Dad in the hospital. He was only having brief moments of consciousness at this point. Two days later, as the Duck Boats conveyed the Red Sox down the Charles, my family and I were with my Dad as he breathed his last durning the victory parade.

One of the greatest moments in Boston sport history. The camera shot of him rounding second base is priceless.

2016 WS will always be my sentimental favorite (many onions were cut when Rizz caught that throw at 1st), but this is the greatest postseason series in any story of all time. Nothing has ever had this level of drama - each game was enthralling in a way that only Yankees vs. Red Sox can be.
