thanks for great video loved the bypass test to identify what O2, I recently worked on a 4 cylinder bmw which had 2 upstream sensors but only 1 down stream , the up streams were in exhaust manifold which was split to read cylinders banks 1 + 2 together then 3+4 together. The verus read the O2's fine but BMW INPA software showed a high reading for 2nd O2 down stream that was not even present. One thing i have learned here in the UK is that after O2 replacement you have to reset the fuel adaptions on BMW cheers sandy

Excellent workup, glad to see your new channel, I'm sub'd. It's so much more professional to test the upstream connections for both the heater and the sensor side, before blindly replacing the part. I've always been surprised when I see a pro test a 5V circuit with a 12V feed, relying on the added resistance of the test light to drag down the voltage drop if any extra current should spill through. Clearly, these systems are robust enough to tolerate brief testing, or you guys would never do it.

Yep, I've never had any issue using an incandescent light for testing like this, but if you were worried about it you could always use an LED one!

Good day, happy new year to you and thanks for the information you provided, If i disconnect the o2 sensor from a 1994 bmw 318i E36 with an converted m3 engine, is it suppose to bring in the check engine light?? and this would be the sensor behind the CAT but the CAT has been removed by previous owners.

I’ve got fault with my oxygen sensors same as you are working on. Ive replaced all 4 of them but they are still showing as fault all 4. I’ve clear the codes but they still come up as fault 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏼♂️ any suggestion why it’s showing as a fault.

An other thing to watch is if the sensor are plug in wrong the engine will run wrong one time I got one that was mix up and to see the reaction on the fuel trim on both banks I used propane to make a rich mixture and if I remember right one bank would lean out the mixture and the other one would rich it out I was suspicious of o2 sensor mix up I reversed the connection and all was fine maybe it would be a quick way to diagnose a bad sensor by swapping the connection it would prove all power and ground plus sensor signal.

My problem is rear O2 goes up to almost 9 for it may say it exceeded the range lights 99.2% and I found that my O2 sensor bank 1 wires somehow they were touching each other and caused a p0604 once in awhile so now I have a check engine light for P0171 lean condition all the vacuum lines and everything else with their filiate with vacuums all done but I don't know how to check the fuel pressure do you have a chance can you tell me

hey men....how you doing....i have am bmw 325i 2002 and having this P0051 O2 sensor (Sensor 1 Bank 2) low signal....but i just replaced it and is total new......how can i fix it....?

The dealership keeps telling me that my O2 sensors are good, but inspection says "Not Ready". Dealership says to keep driving it but I've already driven about 50 freeway miles and still keeps failing. They're not telling me how many miles i need to drive it and the inspection keeps reading "Not Ready". Should I keep driving under certain amount of miles or just replace them?

what turned out to be the problem with the cyl6 misfire and fuel codes?
@pinpointautomotiverepair15927 жыл бұрын
Not sure yet mate. It is a friend of mine's vehicle, and I didn't have time to check out the misfire. I'll let you know if I get it back in, and maybe do another video of that issue.

Well I thought the misfire on cylinder 6 was caused by the o2 sensor..?

The dealer recommends replacing all 4 O2s at 100K miles. An 1K $ endeavor in parts alone.
@cossieconnoisseur5 жыл бұрын
£120.00 in the UK for all four. Shop around for parts and be aware that dealer prices can be extortionate! The whole job (provided the sensors are easy to remove from the exhaust) should not take more than a couple of hours. Also remember to mark the leads if you are changing all of them at the same time! A 2 post or 4 post lift makes the job a lot easier as does the correct tool for removing the sensors!!
