If you are want to know if oxygen sensor is good or bad on your BMW we will show you how to do that. We demonstrated how to know if oxygen sensor is good or bad on BMW 3 series e90 but the procedure will work for most BMW cars and SUVs with the 6 cylinder o 8 cylinder engine. We will have a video that will explain the 4 cylinder engine as well.

Actually the correct value of 2V for the wideband probes is only true for Siemens DMEs, while Bosch DMEs show 1.5V

Great video; this is true quick way to make sure sensors are good, cars with 2 banks have their advantages when diagnosing, you have a comparison to go off of

Your diagnostic statement is not correct nor complete!! This video is wrong. A lot of problems could cause the two front O2 sensors to react differently that have nothing to do with a bad O2 sensor; like a leaking intake gasket on one bank, a hole in the exhaust before the sensor, stuck injector, etc. Your video would have people replacing one of the hardest parts to get to based off your flawed diagnostic criteria.

thanks for this video. question plz, i got a code that the oxgyen sensor is bad. i changed both oxgyen sensors to be sure that everything alright. i deleted the error code and after a while i got three other codes now P1168, 2C55 and 2C56. so what is the problem now ? please help me.. Hey brother, Thanks for all your videos. Youre awesome. I have matching precats O2 sensors but my post cat are not matching. At idle, my B1S2 is just above 0 And my B2S2 is just above .50 Im getting a code P0192 or 235 as a BMW code. I have a check engine light on the dash and my evaporative system will not reset to green on my scanner. All other systes are ready for smog. Please advise.

2c7e oxygen sensor emissions control.upon starting rough idle, within 10 seconds it straightens out, but Engine running rich, you can smell the petrol. 2 oxygens sensors in the engine bay have been replaced, i take it thats pre cat, so now i need to replace 2 by the cats?

Okay so on my n55 I'm noticing voltage off mhd say my O2 sensor first one is 1.46 second one is 1.1 or 1.8 volts 1.1. So hopefully this helps me diagnose an oxygen sensor

Nope. Nor if you had a leaking intake manifold gasket, a stuck injector, a hole in either of the exhaust manifolds, nor simply two sensors that have aged predictably together and are both bad. This video is giving out pretty bad diagnostic information

I got my e90 (185k) and Im getting this codes at the same time 002C9C- Lambda probe heating before catalyst activation 002C9D- Heating lambda probe upstream of the catalyst 2, control 002C9E- Heating lambda probe on the catalyst, driving 002C9D- heating lambda probe downstream of the catalyst 2, control and on my OBD-II Scanner im getting p0031, p0051, p0037, p0057 what does it mean?

Guys great videos, but am confused, you show an oxygen sensor at 2.0 volts, and said its fine, oxygen sensors when working good cant generate more than 0.9 of a volt usually flip flopping from 0.1 to 0.9 why are you saying the BMW sensor is good at 2 volts? Kind regards Jay

@jay Kent Dear brother I think this case only in BMW cars , because in my GMC car O2 sensor not exceeding 1 volt as you said , but maybe BMW is different

Wideband sensors can operate form 0V to 5V and Narrowband 0V to 1V. Depends on the vehicle and what type is installed. Wideband is nmore commonly used in modern engines now as they offer better fuel economy.

​@@jaykent6645 Depends on the scan tool and sensor, most display Lambda and measure in mV with 450mV being Lambda 1.0. Most Narrowband just swing from 0.1 to 0.9 for either lean or rich and 0.45 being Stoic or open loop. Wideband and some titanium sensors can swing from 0V to 5V and have much higher resolution for more optimal AFR. Oxygen sensor diagnostics is quite a specialised and indepth subject. All the best.

How to read oxygen sensors on n55 because the n55 only as one bank? I'm seeing 0.80v after cat 1.50v before cat. Oxygen senor after cat doesn't move much it stays between 0.70- 0.90 when revving engine.

Hi, my check engine light on today . It say catalytic converter defect . But I have change it one month ago . Anyway I erase the code and check engine light gone . So my question is will it come back again. If so how long it will take to come back. Thanks Golf 5 ( 2008 ) 1.4 patrol engine I drove with bad kat about a week but no engine light on and after I drove another week without Kat no engine light on . When I change my both Kat and drove 500km not engine light. Then I put fuel injector cleaner and drove another 150 km . And after engine light on and it says on my obd2 Kat defect.

Bank 1 means before the catalytic converter amd bank 2 means after. There are 4 sensors on some of these too.
