I bought one from Autozone $80 and my mpg has gone up from 14.3 to 15.5 to 16.5 and yesterday I got 18.56 mpg after 20 miles why drive. I didn't have a cel light and the truck was running fine. My 2003 chevy trailblazer with 198k miles is still going strong. I take care of it. It's very reliable. Back when GM was marking good vehicles. I bought mine when it had 100k miles. I would never sell that vehicle. I get 17 mpg highway miles and about 16 miles per gallon combined. The engine and transmission are very good if you take care of them. I drive a 2003 GMC Envoy XL. Had it since 139,000 miles and it now has 250,000+miles. Still runs great and I love it. It's had some problems through the years, but nothing I haven't been able to fix myself. I would say the strongest component of these trucks is the motor. Very bullet proof.
@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 Жыл бұрын
I'm at 278K and got the remans transmission, plus new suspension, and repair kit welding on the chassis and trailing arm mounts (I did my own tailgate repair that looks like stucco from all the polyurethane I used but it stopped the rust!) - along with all the standard TSB repairs over the years (actually two replacements of the fan clutch did not fix the AC since the dealer neglected to upgrade the PCM as per the TSB - instead the dealer noted the TSB was now outdated and so they decided not to do it - strange reasoning. Another dealer ex-mechanic said they ALWAYS upgraded the PCM when fixing the Air conditioner. haha.). I live in a cold state - so I can live without AC. The TB looks terrible - I fixed the rust but I just did a paint mess on the body - but as you say the "motor is the strongest component." So far the motor has held up. I'm hoping to get 500K out of the car. Unfortunately the CD player just started not working - seems to be a digital glitch. So not sure I want to get that fixed or replaced.... That's a big drag but I could just plug in a CD player via the 12 volt power somehow.

Keep the transmission and transfer case fluids fresh. They were not built super tough!! Driven gently and regular checkups for electrical problem resolving and fliud renewal they will last a long time. The engine is really tough, the transmission is teeny inside and easy to break. The first version this model on the dealer floor was the Oldsmobile Bravada. However, this was just as they announced the end of the Oldsmobile brand. Interestingly, in the one I saw in the dealership, the little compartment in the back trunk actually had an air compressor w/ hose for pumping up your tires. I still have my 02 Chevrolet TrailblazerLS. Still love it at 217K. Biggest complaint is that noisy plastic interior compare to the quietness of a Honda Pilot at 190K. But I've towed my father's garden tractor around just fine and it's always had enough power and speed to do everything I've asked of it. And it's 4WD system has never disappointed.

Zero to 60 @ 5.5 sec, & 1/4 mile of 13.8sec @ 99mph That 4200 is only 0.6 of a second slower than the SS model $ giving away 100 hp to it. But that 4200 straight 6 will long outlive those v8's I don't think that is slow for a 4500 lb vehicle. You can buy a used 6 cyl for 1000 to 4500 bucks Now Go price a SS model. EXPENSIVE... For the cost savings you could cam and turbo that 4200, and it would destroy the SS.
