When the temperature doesn’t work on your Chevy or gmc truck, this video shows you how to replace the temperature control blend door actuator for the driver side. The passenger side can be seen in the video as well.

@robfaith Hi! Are all 3 actuators interchangeable with each other?I know the vent control one has a panel attached, but does that matter? Help thank you

The temperature control ones are interchangeable with each other. The mode one is not

How many actuators does the 2500HD has???

If you have zone control, then there are two for temperature, one for mode and one for recirculation

Is there only one under the passenger side? My 2004 Chevy is blowing hot on the drivers side while ac is on
@robfaith9999 Жыл бұрын
If you have separate temperature controls for passenger and driver then there are two actuators for the temp. One on the driver side and one on the passenger side.

So where's the passenger side one be cause mine blows cold on drivers n hot on passenger

Which one do I need to replace, temp controller on hot when I turn on the heater mine blows hot on passenger side and cold on driver side?

Mine is blowing hot on the passenger side so where is that one located
@robfaith999910 ай бұрын
Watch the entire video. It should explain where that one is.

The video is o u doing drivers side says nothing about the passenger side can u please help me locate it
@robfaith999910 ай бұрын
@@jessestandridgesr sorry, I thought I explained where all of the were but I guess I only showed the driver one. With the same cover removed, the passenger one is located to the right of the actuator and up on the side of the case. Passenger foot well area. Look up towards the center and you will see it mounted to the side of the a/c heater box.

okay I replaced mine and it didnt fix anything. I can hear it moving. If I put my finger on it I can feel it move but nothing happens hot air just keeps blowing out the vents. all the other mods work fine

Zone control? Automatic a/c or manual? Does the temperature change at all?

This isn't the blend door actuator motor, it's the temp control rheostat,blend door actuator is in the center of the lower blower housing,I know because I just replaced the rheostat on mine and getting ready to replace my actuator motor, the difference is the blend door actuator has nothing to do with the temp of the air coming out of the vents,that's what the rheostat does,the blend door actuator controls switching from the vents,to the defrost,to the heat vents,it controls the actual blendoors that separate all the vents inside the dash.
@robfaith999910 ай бұрын
A rheostat is a resistor that controls blower motor speed better known as the blower speed control. Rheostats control electrical current creating resistance to slow the current speed of an electric motor. The video shows the temperature blend door actuator which. It blends hot air with cold air by moving a door inside the housing to blend air movement over the heater core blending with the evaporator. The Mode door actuator diverts the air to different parts of the ducting system making blow through the floor, defrost or vents. Blend is the term for blending hot and cold. Mode is the term for air diversion to different modes like defrost and floor. Again, Rheostat= control of electrical current causing the blower speed to be low or high. Blend door= blending hot and cold air controlling temperature Mode door= controlling air flow to vents, defrost and floor.

@robfaith9999 yep pretty much what I said without all the technical stuff,maybe you can answer a question on my truck,it's an 04 Silverado and as I was saying in my earlier comment I changed out the blend door actuator motor, it's still not switching from one mode,ie from the vents to the defrost and what not,when I plugged the wiring harness back to the new motor,it worked but it went all the way to the right on the little marks on the cover of the motor and wouldn't go back to center or to the left,I'm thinking this is the position that it went bad in and it needs reset maybe back to factory, how do I go about doing that??? Appreciate any help/input well ahead of time cause I'm stumped on this one!!!!

The mode door actuator controls the vent system. If that is the one you replaced then start by disconnecting the battery for at least 1 minute. Make sure the system is off. Reconnect the battery. Start by letting the system initialize waiting 3 minutes for it to do so. After this. Move the mode settings one at a time through each setting allowing at some time in between. Then back again where it began. If this doesn’t help, you may have a controller issue.
