I remember Earthmover being in the 2000 and 2001 Grand Nationals...to think he'd go on this long after (4 years an eternity for race horses) and win a race at Cheltenham is crazy. 98 and 04...surely has to be a record at the festival (maybe anywhere) for longest gaps between victories in the same race?

Now top trainer, Gordon Elliott on Oneminutetofive, up there all the time, 3 years later he trained the Grand National winner Silver Birch.

A great win by Earthmover. Lord Atterbury ran a shocker here but then finished a close third in the Grand National the next month.

I backed the old boy, Earthmover because he won this race before.

Another memorable festival moment. You have to go back to the 1980s when Crimbson Embers won the Stayers (now World Hurdle) in 1982 before winning again four years later, 1986. Earthmover has to be the oldest festival winner at 13 to date I believe.
