2004 Honda Accord Door Lock Actuator Replacement HD Detailed Fix Power Door Lock Not Working (COUPE)

In this video I am replacing the Door Lock Actuator in my 2004 Honda Accord LX COUPE. The door stopped locking and unlocking with the key fob and required me to manually open and lock the door with the key.
You have to remove 4 screws and a 10mm bolt in order to remove the door lock actuator and get your door locks working again. Its pretty easy to do but I like making videos to help people fix things on their own.
I show in great detail all the frustrations and real world scenarios that occur when making this repair.
Some people also find out that their Door Latch Cable is broken so I have included the link for that part as well. Although my actuator was broken, I actually broke the door latch cable end and had to replace it also.

Thank God you removed the door cable latch. I had the same issue when I just replaced my actuator and I couldn't figure out how it went. But you had the same problem and had the mechanishm upside down (same as me) and went back to explain how it went in. That saved me. Thank you!!!

I used to install car audio many many years ago and had experience pulling door panels off - so this was immensely helpful. How about if the drivers door unlocks with the remote but the others don't? Would all 3 passenger door actuators need to be replaced?

To make it easier you should have removed the master switch cover and then removed the vehicle harness connectors. Before removing door lining. That way the door lock cable won’t get broken because the wire harness is what restricts. You from removing the door lining completely. And then puts strain on that cable. Also when you removed the door latch rod i seen you pry it off. I did the same to my 03 Accord EXV6 Coupe. And it was really difficult to do even prying it off. Did use silicone spray or something before to help loosen it?

Thanks for the helpful video, in my 07 Accord, rear driver door lock doesn't work with remote or from the main master lock switch on the driver side, what could it be? I ensured child lock isn't engaged. If it's actuator, are steps exactly same? Thank you

Yes, the actuator is bad. It is the same fix but may be slightly different.

Hi there! Thank you so much for the tutorial, I had a failed driver side door lock actuator as well. This video was a life saver, very clear. I have a question: I reassembled the actuator assembly in the same way you did. However, after putting the door back on, my door will only open from the outside. It was working from the inside before I replaced the actuator. The inner cable seems to not be hooking. Weird thing is I'm absolutely sure I hooked it up correctly. Did you experience this? Looking for some confirmation before I go and pull everything apart again. My fear is that I broke the smaller metal j hook that comes out of the assembly, it was bent in a very weird way when I was putting it back together.

It's been a while since I did this but yes, I actually had a very similar problem. Please check first but I had to buy amzn.to/2nwl03B because a piece of that cable broke. I cant remember which one :/ but I'm sure that's it.

No, you will have to do this to both doors to fix both of them unfortunately.

Same story with mine. Replaced battery in main and backup keys. Both will lock/unlock all doors other than the driver. No noise. Is that the actuator? Would hate to try this replacement if that isn't the problem.

Yeah, I would say its the actuator. It's not that difficult, just a bit hard to see in there.
