When I watch you do this one-handed it makes me think I have a chance at getting it done...

You rock! This was an excellent exclamation, and illustration that I might even be able to do myself, a 72-year-old woman that is not mechanically inclined!

The difference in the fans shows big differences in blade width which would affect the force it blows. Mines just noisy from leaves or something in it. Thanks for the video.

Thanks. Your instructions are much better than the Honda manual.

Thanks! My 2004 Cr-V looks different than yours. Mine has 4 doors and windows that look the same. Yours looks more like a minivan and has a weird looking shifter. My blower makes a low pitch growling type noise and is kind of loud. It works on all speeds, but it draws power and lowers my idle. I think I might try to clean it and lubricate it. Now I know what tools I'll need and what to expect. Thanks for your video and hard work. 😁👍

2005’ Element, started hearing a clicking weird noise coming out of my passenger side vent, gets louder the higher I turn the blower, I’m thinking it has something to do with this fan. I can do this, I can do this. Thank you for great inspiration and instructions.. if you have an idea what this noise, or it’s happened to your Honda, I’m Open to suggestions..

My '04 CR-V's cover wouldn't easily come off when pulled, so I smacked it with my hand---and my cabin fan turned on! What does this tell me? Did I simply dislodge some dust and debris inside the fan housing that may have been causing the fan motor from powering the fan? Or did my smack affect the nearby resistor? Another KZbinr says fan motors rarely need replacing, and that he typically finds the problem is the resistor.

it's like the starter the part that wears out is called the bushing (two metal parts touching the center windings they have springs on them) as the metal gets shorter the contact misses and you get failure so tap it with a hammer and it works again. for a short while so don't be surprised when it fails again and to total failure

I know this is old and I'm sure you've gotten it taken care of so , I'll answer this for others. I already started typing and just saw the other person's reply. Anyway, yes you can tap on it and it will usually come back on. Maybe for a week, a day, or just a minute. It will go out though, Eventually. When it starts doing this, it's best to just go ahead and replace it. It's sort of like your home A/C. You may freeze your coils up or damage your compressor. You dont want to spend a thousand dollars replacing those things. You can get one of these blower motors online for around 30-40 bucks.

@@jnlollar , thank you. I did not know that. We replaced the A/C about two years earlier, so I’m glad I got it fixed quickly. I splurged and bought both parts. I replaced the fan blower motor (it came with a new hamster wheel-type fan) first and I think that it was the likely culprit. It was about $100 if I remember correctly. The resistor was only about $50, so I just went ahead and replaced it rather than trying to return it. What a challenge it is to get a screwdriver in there!
