Great story about your RC resurrection and the CBR wheels look great. Did you replace the headlight assemblies and if so what do you use? Keep on cranking out the videos!!

Thanks, I was able to clean up the headlights and reuse them, they were beat, but the tabs were intact still.

Hi. Can you please tell me where you got the Chinese upper fairing. It look pretty decent and I’m looking to replace mine on a restore of a 2003 I’m doing.

Shoot man, I cannot remember, they are all the same though. I just found some that were pretty close to the 04 Nicky and even so, still had to add a few OE decals to make it look close. The Honda on the lowers and the Woody decals are actually OEM. The tail and the fender are also OEM. They all pretty much suck, I had to add a lot of foil tape and do some uni-bit cleaning out of all the holes and some edge clean up with a dremel. I have a new OE upper, and Left Side still in the package, and a OE rt side I am in progress of refinishing. I would only reccomend those Chinese fairings for a bike that is not ridden much and never left outside.

You probably won’t, they were done by another enthusiast who only had a few sets made. Don’t think he will ever do more. Will G on the rc51 board

How does it drive compared to the Panigale?

It's about 20 years behind technology wise, and probably 80 rwhp down, but I tell you, Honda makes a smooth running bike that handles great. The SP2 engine with a PC. Flapper disabled, soft rev limited removed and exhaust holds its own up till 8k or so, but the brutal power and sophistication of the Panigale. Its hard to compare them. But fun factor is through the roof on a SP. Something to be said for singular focused simplicity of the early 00s sbks

The guy that made them only did a few pair, they were one offs, he had the mounte cnc'd and did all the wiring for plug and play
