@Am Chow Considering its faster than most modern hot hatchbacks i would say its pretty fast. And round a track it would leave alot of cars that cost 10× as much. 211bhp in a car that weighs about a ton and a quarter cant be slow. Ive driven the 170hp cooper s and that was faster than i expected.

This is 2023 and all I’m hearing is the Mini motors are the worst of all time. I was looking at a really clean 2010. It seems that the bad engines came along around 2007 with the turbo’s in them. What do you know about this? Because today I found a 2004 with only 60,000 miles on it….

take the n18 engine if you want a r56 (2012/13) if you don't care then take a f56 (2013 - until now, they got the bmw engine = very reliable!). i drive a r56 '07 with the n14 engine, it has some problems, but you'll be fine if you maintain it good. I personally can't recommend you the r53, the engine is even worse than the r56 n14s....@@JQUICK21

2003-2006 are reliable so are 2010+ Cooper s​ with n18 and 2013-2014 n18 jcw minis as the jcw cars didn't get them til 2013 They are sort've sought after. A clean r53s and r53 jcw are appreciating quickly A more characterful ford fiesta st in my opinion@@JQUICK21

MINI’s are so much fun to drive. You don’t sit in it, you WEAR it. And I don’t mean that as a styling statement, as a way it handles and responds to every input with lightning quickness. I owned a MINI before my VW GTI and the GTI is boring in comparison. Just as capable mind you, just very insulted from the road compared to the MINI. It’s what attracted me to the GTI after driving the stiff MINI over bumpy roads every day. Now I miss the MINI.

Als je de auto goed onderhoud hoef je echt niet veel problemen te hebben, ik zou een R53 aanraden vanaf de facelift in 2004. Dan heb je een betere aanjager en een betere versnellingsbak

I own a r53 Jcw (210) but mine doesn't bang and pop like this, it has a nice rumble and a bang now and then (stock car).. this one sounds like a popcorn machine for some reason. Overall proper fun... Best car around to jump from town to town... Was designed for english roads... so I have two of them... :))

Agree with rattle comments for this car but for what it's worth my sisters '04 r50 hardly rattles at all. Owned it since new and never had any major problems either other than slight oil leak..

Zelf heb ik een 2002 r53 met milltek uitlaat maar heb noooit zoveel geluid van dingen die rammelen... beetje raar als ik de eigenaar was zou ik er even naar laten kijken Edit: en een supercharger geluid hoor ik ook wel wat meer, toch leuk als je hem hoort als die erop zit ;)

kaatje floep klopt, ik heb een schroefset eronder die erg stug afgesteld staat. De uitlaat komt nu boven supercharger uit maar met een cai zul je de charger meer gaan horen

Sounds good, but seems to be all exhaust noise and very little supercharger whine until high in the RPM, is the exhaust a JCW, I have an R53 with a reduced pulley, uprated intercooler and custom intake and the charger whine compared to this is so much louder. Love the Recaro seats and official JCW gear knob and handbrake! Very sought after items, Awesome car!

Thats right! The jcw exhaust was lacking a lot of silencers. Now a days the exhaust is quiter and a cold air intake is fitted with a reduced pulley and airtec intercooler. Whines a lot louder now! Also it was lacking some horses at that point, ap coilovers werent set right to. The sparco seats were so nice but to heavy, got some lightweight buckets and rear seat delete and got 40kg out of the interior shaved off!

Huff Huff changed a lot on the exhaust, pre-cat delete, resonator delete, backbox delete, other than that this car is a facelift model and has an other ecu with different software that provides this jcw with a lot of pops 😋

Mini coopers aren’t the best when it comes to absorbing bumps in the road. You can feel literally every bump in the road that you go over but they are really fun to drive. They have lots of plastic inside pretty much everything is hard plastic lol.
