2004 Road King Classic Fork Oil Change

2004 Road King Classic with 28,000 miles probably never had fork oil changed.
Tools used:
5/16 combination wrench
#3 phillips screwdriver
3/8 ratchets
1/2in socket
Flathead screwdriver
Pick
Crescent Wrench
Vice Grip
2x 14oz Betty Crocker measuring cups (purchased at Family Dollar)
Parts:
45858-77 x2 SCREW, W/ WASHER
Harley-Davidson type E fork oil
45733-48 x2 Rubber Washers

If the fork oil comes out that dark the Teflon has warn off the bushings and its time for a rebuild of the fork

Great job and in detail to, I have a 96 King I'm the second owner I have 30 something thousand on it. I'm looking to do this also, were you feeling anything that made you replace the oil, or just that it was time with the miles you had on it. I feel the front end dump if I go into a pothole or bump in the road. I'm wondering if just changing fluids would help me. Or I might have to change the internal springs to.

You forgot to pump the air bubbles out before putting the fork caps back on

Is your left side fork a cartridge type?

I have had a 2012 Road King for a couple of years now, doing all the fluids right now. I have changed the oil, tranny, primary before, but I have never done the brake fluid and forks. Just got done with the brake fluid change, going to do the forks this weekend. Your video is lots of help...thanks.

Liked the video a lot. I’m mechanically inclined and have done a lot to my bike , but not fork oil. I was just going to pay to have it done until I watched your video. The step by step was great. Just what I needed to determine if I was going to give it a try. Thanks to you I will.
