I modified the stock y-pipe by removing the cats and making the passenger side of the "Y" the same length as the drivers side in hopes of reducing the clap and giving it a cleaner exhaust tone.

Late response. But did it sound like those nasty, clappy, straight piped trucks? Did it eliminate most of the clap and still be loud?

That was the goal and it did get rid of a lot of the clap. I could actually control it myself vs. before when it clapped under any load. All said and done, I was probably off 1.5" in making it true equal length and that may eliminate it completely. Doesn't sound like a truck near as much now and a lot smoother.

Equal length Y pipe seems to be the way too go, it has a nice balance of truck sound with the sportiness of a corvette, plus if you already have a cat back exhaust it’s a no brainer. Did you experience any sorta power gain with the equal length piping? I feel like it would pull the exhaust pulses out of the motor more effectively

Definitely seemed to clean up the sound a little bit!

The video doesn't do it justice. It gave it a higher pitch, got rid of almost all of the clap and drone as well as cleaned it up a bit.

@codysparks4040 I had plans for headers and equal length exhaust plus manual transmission swap but things come up and I'm selling this one soon. Gotta focus on some other projects instead.
