2004 Tahoe Long Term Review

Not gonna lie your channel was a direct inspiration for me to get my 03' Z71 Tahoe. It's even the same color. I've had it for about 5 months now. Absolutely love it! It has some small flaws to it (driver's seat is stuck reclined pretty far back, heated seats buttons just click and make noise and don't work, etc) The leather seats are actually in great shape as well. I'll be looking for another driver's seat from Copart more than likely. Luckily the previous owner(s) switched up the exterior lighting to all LED, but left the dome lights alone 🙄. The paint is about 65% overall and the frame isn't rotted to all hell (YET). But I definitely watched your videos and took ideas. I'm definitely going for bigger wheels/tires in the spring and will likely just upgrade the suspension overall with a lift/level kit from Kryptonite when I do. I just put the Volant intake on the truck a week ago and that made a really nice improvement in the throttle. I'm considering upgrading the entire exhaust down the road with some sort of plug/play tuner and perhaps a mild truck cam as well. And I was told the 4L80E is a decent upgrade (although 150lbs heavier 😳) especially since I plan to use the truck to my Subie (if only there were really good car trailers for really cheap...[there's not]..) Are you on IG at all?

Thank you that’s a huge compliment. I love the way the z71s look the best so yours should look great with a lift and you won’t have any problems with kryptonite products although they are a bit pricey. And yes the 4l80s are better in general and out side of the cost of the transmission it’s not too expensive to swap it. And I’m not Instagram at the moment.

How much was it to completely upgrade your front end? I have a 2001 Tahoe with 189k and it needs to be done. I want to do it right and go with the better parts. I love the truck man. Your videos were a big part of me buying one.

Would you consider upgrading the front end if you just putting a leveling kit on like raising the front end like a 1 1/2? And just curious did you paint your fenders or did you buy them?

If you plan on going with anything larger than the stock wheels/tire setup I would recommend upgrading it. As for the fender flares they were already on the truck when I bought it. I’m not sure if they were installed by the previous owner or if they were a factory option.
