2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 Volvo S40 Maintenance Light Reset (Book Maintenance Service Required)

This is a quick video on how to reset the service/maintenance light, also know as the "book maintenance service light", on a 2008 Volvo S40. This reset is nearly universal for any Volvo from 2001-2012ish.
Step 1- With the key off, press and hold the trip reset button
Step 2- Once holding trip button in, turn key to on (# 2 ) while holding trip button still
Step 3- Once the yellow "!" Light starts to flash, release the trip button (service is now reset)
Step 4- Drink your favorite adult beverage (as long as your not going for a drive)

The instructions are so good I made a text version for others: Reset Book Time for Maintenance warning 1. Get in and close the door 2. Key in ignition 3. Hold trip reset and turn key to position II 4. When the ‘i’ starts blinking, release trip reset and turn key off

Skyhook / I am going to do this first thing in the morning in my S40 Volvo 1.6 diesel 2006, from what I have made out so far ,looking at videos that sensor has my turbo control module to not give the right amount of Turbo,going up through the gears the car feels like it is lacking in power, it's driving ok, but it's doesn't have the full power, could you point out in a video, what it is in the front of the engine that needs replacing in order to get my trouble running back proper just after subscribing hope you can help.

Perfect except remember to turn key off WHILE blinking. He says at first after it stops but during the reset, he said while blinking and that's the important part.

Doesnt work on all 2010 models,if u got the model without a temp gauge and a plastic key that inserts in the dash,its a different sequence.So keep looking probably on here somewhere,got a mate to do mine.I remember when he did it the i light is flashing u had to release the T1 trip meter before the 3rd flash of the i.

Reprogram how? As in you put a different ignition switch in and have different keys for the new switch? Please elaborate and I can answer properly.

If both keys stopped working at or around the same time, it is unlikely that they are the problem. If the batteries are bad in them, you should have gotten a warning on the dash to replace them. My best guess is that there is some interference causing them to act up.

Skyhook Studios I’ve replaced the batteries but I’ve just gotten the car I’m 16 and when we got the key fobs nothing worked so we tried replacing the batteries in all 3 nothing works so we figured that they aren’t connected to the car and was wondering how to connect them to the car
