Thanks Stefmeister for putting these out here for us. I never got to see any of these races live so it's all new to me!

I think Nelson Piquet Junior has an American accent even though he's Brazilian like his father.

It's such a shame that A1GP eventually failed. It took a lot of flak at the beginning, the cars look cartoonish, they're not as fast as F1, the national teams concept is a gimmick, etc., but actually, 1. compared to modern formula cars, these don't look out of place, so were actually years ahead in terms of design styling, 2. they were never meant to be as fast as F1 cars, but I'd take the V8 scream of these cars over the current hybrid-turbo F1 cars of today, which need a trumpeted exhaust to make them sound louder, 3. the nation vs nation thing worked well, as it gave viewers an instant team to support and instant historical rivalries. The downfall started, IMHO, when the Sheikh sold up to an investment firm and then they got Ferrrari involved. The 2nd gen cars were basically clones of a few years old Ferrari F1 cars with Ferrari road car engines, which had none of the high-rev scream that the original Zytek race engines produced. To be fair, the sound of the 2nd gen engines is comparable with current F1 engines, so in a way, they were ahead of their time again... but not in a good way. The A1GP races drew huge crowds wherever they went and it could have built on what it created, but greed and bad decision making got in the way, much like it does with many great ideas. RIP A1GP :(
