I did this job two months ago as a preventative maintenance on my 07 Escape Hybrid (150,000 miles). There's an excellent KZbin showing a female tech replacing the PCV on the 2.3L Mazda (same engine). Take your time and pictures to help confirm which hose/connector/tube went where. I'm not close to a mechanic, so it took 15+ hours over 3 days, but that also included the installation of a new water pump, pulley tensioner and thermostat (much easier to access those parts with the manifold off). As mentioned in this video, PCV is a cheap part with huge labor that many Ford dealers don't even want to undertake (they laughed at the cost and thought of doing this as a PM). But, if PCV sticks closed, pressures can rise and oil leaks (possibly fatal) come in droves. If you undertake this task as a PM or to repair a problem, definitely replace all manifold and fuel injector gaskets, coolant bypass hose, knock sensor, MAF sensor and oil separator (which has a new PCV included) while you have the manifold off. You don't want to imagine having to access those things later once you undertake this job. The hose Ford makes for the PCV is really stout/well-made and worth the $30 (in my opinion). I didn't have too much of a problem accessing the dreaded "hidden" manifold bolt located in the middle area since I had the pulley tensioner off (could slide my arm through that area). I did not have to remove the radiator/cooling fans. Pack your patience and best attitude for this trip. Best wishes.

Correction....MAP sensor (manifold absolute pressure), not MAF. MAP attaches to lower/front side of intake manifold.

Thank you for this video! You did an excellent job explaining the reasoning behind your repair, and the additional recommendations regarding the hose, ect. are appreciated. I'll be relieved if I find another of your videos pertaining to a repair I'm planning.

Follow my video, the pcv is behind the plenum against the block. It is a labor intensive process but will help your oil consumption out tremendously, it did for mine.

I have a 2007 FEH 172K miles hoping this will be my issue but WOW 7 hours down to fix a PCV valve and I thought it did not have one. Great video, now to see if it will be 7 hours or 14 for me. I've never had the issues with oil I have than with this one. Thanks for the tips it took me a while to find it. Did you have large oil consumption and over the highway miles? Mine is using about a quart every 1500 miles. barely any at first then it drops about 1/2 quart after changing it.
