Thanks for all your vids. In assuming you don't need to drain the engine oil prior to this.

No, but I would do this during an oil change if it's not leaking too badly.

I was wondering what year this Honda is. Mine is a 2007. I have seen gaskets with a mesh screen. Thanks and great job.

Mr ranger, forgive my needy questions, do I need to first drain out the motor oil before opening up this filter thingy? Thanks.

What is the secret to removing the solenoid wiring from the metal bracket. I can't seem to remove it. I feel like metal bracket will break.

My 2005 Odyssey gave me Slide Door light today lol. Left driver side slide door doesn't want to close or open automatically using any levers or buttons or handles...

@@MrRangerZr1 Yesterday I removed and installed fuse #7 and light and annoying beep is gone. Though the door didn't open when I tried buttons on on left side of the dash. At least it doesn't beep now.

Replaced 2x with OEM gaskets on 2010 Accord, keeps leaking. Cleaned both surfaces well. Would it be ok to add sealant around housing?

Is this the same as VTEC solenoid gasket

@@MrRangerZr1 when you said "Yes", do you mean the VTEC solenoid gasket (or spool valve) on the rear cylinder head please ?

@@yomia6178 I’m changing this gasket now & came across your unanswered question. I checked the Haynes Repair Manual for ‘99-2010 Odyssey. On Page 2A-11, section 10.10, explains the situation(VTEC lock-up control solenoid valve). In Layman’s term, this gasket is sandwiched between the engine block & the oil filter adapter housing(part removed, oil filter still attached). However, the manual didn’t print a torque spec for bolt tightening, which is why Google suggested this video. Thank you MrRangerZr1 for 1:47! FYI, I’m just a DIY’er that was offended when my wife was quoted $500+ got this 30mins job(took me)! Something’s definitely wrong with this industry when it’s cheaper to take the day off my day job, to wrench on my wife’s daily driver!

@@coconutcrawler5650 industry charges because... You're using their hoist, their tools, their time. They have to diagnose problems, order parts and install. If you can do all that, then you're ahead of 95% of the population. If everyone knew how to do it, then there wouldn't be an industry. And I'm referring to all repairs not just simple things like this.
