for anyone watching, when you take a new gaskets out of a package, they are bent out of shape. Leave the metal and the new gasket attached out in the sun for 10-20 minutes and it'll fix into place automatically. This saves so much hassle. I've seen people just install them as is and it leaks again because of the gasket not sitting in place properly.

That is one thing I really appreciate about these Honda designs, they make them so that these individual parts are repairable with a simple O-ring and or gasket set. Take their power steering pumps, very expensive, and I am sure the dealerships love selling new ones. The kicker is, just about anyone with some basic hand tools can rebuild one for around $30 or $40, depending on the Honda dealer you purchase the O-rings, seal and bearing from.
@TheProtagonist_777

It's a shame they do not sell some of the gaskets, VCM gaskets for instance. You have to buy aftermarket gaskets.
@ReeseAssad

Lmfao the kicker with the power steering pumps on the v6 hondas is that they are a pain in the ass to install especially the high pressure line that routes to the rack directly, and if u got a leak on the return line even a more pain the ass problem, and i dont think basic hand tools will suffice for a power steering pump job lol espeically if you need to remove the motor mount to replace ps belt thats connected to the crank pulley

It’s common on these for the VTEC solenoid (i.e. pressure switch/spool valve) on the V6 to leak. Thank heavens it’s mostly an easy fix. But I wouldn’t replace the main gasket without the mesh filter.

GUNK "Engine Brite" or Simple Green are really good cleaners for the outside of the engine block to grt all the old oil grime off. Sprsy them on liberally, let them sit for 10 to 15 minutes to emulsify. Then blast the solvents off with a high pressure gargen hose or power washer.

OMG . This is it!! Is this it?? Probably... Im back here cuz of the sludge all over. This pic looks just like mine did. Now clean but never diagnosed by shop. What broke though? Over the course of a month with two incidents something broke was caught up in belt the flew out from under. That part still looked in tact but soaked in oil. The noise was horrible I thought the wheels or front end were going to fall off. B4 event no sludge, after event sludge! The damn mechanic didnt believe me & never provided ANY feedback during all their supposed work... Also my front end 6 mos later is way sloppier & nosier. Gee there goes those bushings!!!!!! As if i did have enough front end work to be done. signed, female-on-a-mission. Oh, any feedback appreciated.😊

So you're saying the 1hr job in doing the filter housing, should've have been a 9-hour maintenance prevention by doing the oil pump while I was in there? By that logic, I should've pulled the transmission and did the rear main seal also if I'm doing a axle seal... is this correct, please explain your logic here
@Mr_BUSINESS_24_7

Keep in mind if resealing rhe oil housing DOESN'T take care of the leak, then yoi need to reseal the oil pump. There os an O-ring between oil pump and rhe engine block that likes to leak put the top and run down the outside of the oil pump onto the oil filter housing.
