The blond fella is Matthew Hoggard, he was a successful England opening bowler in the early 2000s. Also, Simon Jones who took 5 wickets in the first innings, never played for England again after this. An incredibly talented bowler, a real shame injury wrecked his career

In the first Hidden Ashes video, the announcers were not talking about series wins or match wins in general. They were only talking about the wins in the stadium they were playing (Which basically means England haven't been able to defeat Australia for that duration in THAT stadium, but they do have victories over them in other grounds).

Only twice had a team lost after enforceing follow on ( It was Australia both times). Vs England in 1981 and Vs India in 2001. This nearly became the third. And Ponting was quite right about substitutes. Gary Pratt was a specialist fielder out there while the bowlers kept going off for rest. Jones was injured but that didn't mean all the other substitutions were legitimate.

Bucknor gave the right decision. The ball was clearly missing the leg stump as the impact was outside the leg stump. It was probably hitting the 5-6th stump.

Matthew Hoggard is the blond bowler/batsman you're talking about. He played 67 test matches for England between 2000 and 2008 and for a few seasons was one of our key medium-fast bowlers, along with Steve Harmison, Simon Jones and Andrew Flintoff. Hope that helps.

Tickets to a Test are a lot cheaper than you guys think. We go to the Boxing Day test in Melbourne every year, tickets start at like $30 for an adult and these are not bad seats up in the rafters, we were top level but right at the front. You can get ground level seats for like $75. Day 5 is $1 donation to charity for tickets, if the test goes into day 5.

And it set up the final test beautifully because, If Australia wins the final test, the series would be tied and Australia would retain the Ashes. I think you can see now, every session of every test match in this series ebbed & flowed, with the balance of power constantly changing. Look forward to the 5th test as this series will come down to those final 5 days. ..... I enjoy seeing your enthusiasm for cricket grow over the last year or so. A truly great game, of mind, body & soul. Gabe and Nick, genuinely if you wish to catch a test match ( possibly an Ashes test match) in England, where I live is 25miles from Old Trafford (Manchester), 18 miles from Headingly (Leeds) and 35 miles from Trent Bridge (Nottingham). all 3 hold international test matches. Ticket price would be around £40- £100 ($60-$130) for a day's test cricket. all accessible cheaply by train so if you a beer, no problem with having to dal with drink-driving. And having a few beers at a test is highly recommended & adds to the occasion. Reply back if you'd like to sort something out. I m happy to help. All the best.

It scares me to see her emotion at a bad decision. ... Loving this series of you guys watching this. I wish you could feel the same thing with the independent trophy where England and America battle out in a five day series..... Is anybody thinking this? The last match starts on 4th July once every six years or something. That would be amazing for the fans..... And Pepsi and bud and Amazon...... Most important it would be a huge occasion both home and away

If you have membership of the club that plays at the round the intranational match is being held you get to purchase tickets ahead of the general public. A couple of years ago full adult membership of Surrey Country Cricket Club, my local team, cost £200. Some tickets will be allocated to general public sale so members can't snap up all tickets but they sell out extremely fast, even more so for Ashes matches and you have to buy several months in advance. I haven't checked prices in recent years but for a Test match expect to pay in the order of £100 per ticket. Tickets are for one day and people usually only go to 1 day of a Test match. Day 5 tickets are nearly always much cheaper, often in the order of £20 for adults, and are on the gate so no advance purchases. International cricket grounds in England are relatively small in terms of seats. For example The Oval has a capacity of 21,000 so not a huge number of tickets to go round to start with.

Simon Katich lbw in the 2nd innings was an absolute shocker from Aleem Dar and changed the whole momentum of the game. Ball pitched miles outside leg stump and was going way over the top of the stumps. Wouldn’t have hit another set of stumps stacked on top. Just as Katich and Warne were putting a partnership together to give them enough of total to defend. In the days before DRS that sort of umpiring decision changed the outcome of the match and series!!!!

Maybe it did but who can say? If that had been given not out what followed would have been different but there is no knowing how different. He could have been out next ball or got a century. I played cricket until I was 66 and learned to accept that these things were all part of the game. They did not have DRS technology and in my opinion the two finest umpires around that we used to encounter in the noughties and after were Simon Taufel and Aleem Dar.
