2005 BMW E60 550i Review: Rarer than an E60 M5 in India | Autoculture

The BMW E60 M5 V10 is and will be one of the greatest BMWs ever built. The screaming V10 engine and unadulterated performance meant for a car that was totally unhinged. But the E60 M5 came with its own set of issues. The SMG gearbox was a total reliability nightmare and the engine was also very unreliable. We think we have found the best mid-point for all of these problems. The BMW E60 550i has an amazing 4.8 Litre NA V8 which sounds ungodly once it has a good exhaust on it. The owner of this particular vehicle has put on stunning Vossen HF-3s with Pirellu P-Zeros joint to Bilstein B-12 Pro shocks. The E60 550i is also quite a looker whereas the new BMW M4, BMW M3 and practically every other BMW in the current lineup looks ugly whereas this the E60 550i has aged into a beautiful brute. It's not a beautiful saloon like E39 or 34 but it grows on you when you push the pedals of course reliablity was a horror in this model especially with vanos system and smg transmission so there is too much enthusiasm of the owner in place

Firstly, its meant to be fun not exactly fast and in the clip the car upshifted and being a NA car you really gotta get high up in the revv range to extract that peak performance. so ya
