Absolutely one of the best KZbin diagnostic videos that was "FULLY" explained..I am a diy guy but have been trying to learn how to read the wiring diagrams but am struggling..You explained every detail and I followed you throughout and I'll be damned I had the exact same problem! Burnt at that connector!

Interesting! My wife has the same car. when it rains here heat/AC is dead for a day or two. Now That I watched your Video I do recall The rubber seal strip on the the windshield was messed up on the drivers side. Right above where you spliced that wire. I'm going to check it when I get home. Thanks!

great video if i might add here. your the man, not to many people out there will even think about adding shrink wrap and a label for future if needed and awesome video without a doubt and a mechanic i would hire to work on my vehicle if i were to refer somebody. I dont say this lightly bud. your a warrior, 110% for this and repair it like you stole it I love it. my problem here is if you can beleive this one its just nuts I have a 2006 pontiac torrent 3.4 now any ideas, iam at a loss here seriously. and anything would help alo.t If i can explain, and hopefully you still manage this feed. let me explain the best i can here, and any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. mine freaked the crap out of me it was literally burnt on the pigtail that goes to the heater control module, and the other end going to the resistor, (no fan will go on now) but the blower fan once removed ran like it was going to take right off on me so its great! but the other end of the pigtail going to the resistor was a little dark brown but not burnt!. Now get this, replaced the entire heater control module, resistor, new pig trail that came with the resistor all fuses checked! and all good condition. Now, when this happened the very weird part, was it did not blow any fuses and this one was a 40 watt (the same one you had pulled out, the relay no damage no cut wires. Now, this is the strangest thing i have (ever seen) or faced if i could post the photos here i would because i`m sure not to many have seen! And great job you did on the blower motor (anyway had mine ou)t, and works like, new so after doing all this, still the fan will not go on period i don't like giving up. You have any ideas or have you ever run into this!. the heater/Air worked great but was kinda, stuck on med and the wife did say, she had smelt like something burning, and this was last year. I din't think nothing because everything was as it was, and no fuse/relays burnt checked all back then, and now, the heater quit for good this time ?? Mystery vehicle i tell ya usually a fuse or relay will blow but no nothing. anyway if you have any ideas. can you let me know when you get time thanks bud.

See if you are getting power and ground at the connector for the motor. You need to do it with and incandescent bulb or test light, not a multimeter, that way you put a little load on the circuit. A lot of times these turn out to be a bad ground. The connection get bad and the voltage drops and the current goes up, which causes the wiring to heat up and melt.

Good job. Did you find the location of the connector through all-data as well?
@frugalprepper5 жыл бұрын
Yes. For most cars AllData gives connector, and power and ground locations. If you get into the European stuff though it's a little sketchy. Mitchell has the best electrical diagrams, but I have AllData, so that is what I use for now.

Wow Tom! How were you able to do that repair without having "Professional" tools? The self-proclaimed YT Tool "Professionals" would not have approved. 😁 The jab a "professional" tools was my favorite part of the video. 👍

How would you go about buttons like defrost and the air recycling button blinks once pressed and then stops and no cold air or hot air blows
@frugalprepper8 ай бұрын
Check all of the Actuators under the dash that handle the switching of the flaps for mode selection and recycling air. They are probably dead. A pretty common problem.

You know, IMHO, this is engineering and complication way beyond what is needed to run a blower motor.
@frugalprepper5 жыл бұрын
I would agree with that, but it nothing compared to how its done in most new cars.
