@user-oo1ss4hi4v that is soooooo cooooool! I started taking things apart at a very young age. Later I figured out it is more difficult to put them back together and that is when the real fun begins. I think it is awesome you are fostering these skills with your son. Thank you so much for sharing! ~Mr. C.

Followed your instructions and worked great. We replaced both sides at the same time with parts from Amazon. Why aren’t passenger and driver side harnesses the same price? One connector is green while the other is gray. No other differences that I can tell.

@RealSmartHacks that is excellent news. Good job! Glad the video was helpful. I have no idea about the odd pricing. You would think they would be the same price. Some bean counter decided that is how it should be I guess. Thanks for watching and letting me know. I love hearing from you guys! ~Mr. C.

What I need is how to disconnect that electrical connector, that you skipped over! I had never seen a disconnecter like that before and I am unable to disconnect that electrical connector! I'm not surprised! When ever I am working on something and have a problem, I get on the net, KZbin, for instructions on how to do it, and after watching several how to videos that always skip over my problem, I get really frustrated., they always skip over my problem, just like you did!
@NaturesCadenceFarm4 жыл бұрын
nightlightabcd I understand your frustration when it comes to not getting all of the information. There are two electrical connectors in the video. Please tell me which connector you are having trouble with. Is it the grey one or the black one? If it is the grey one, just push on the center tab and pull it apart just like the black one. I hope this helps, if not just let me know and I will do my best. ~Mr. C.

Excellent instructional video!! My favorite of all the Chrysler minivan sliding door repair videos out there. And there are a bunch of them--check my playlist for them, which you are now part of. (Your video is especially awesome at 2X speed, lol, fast way to get the full context) Really appreciate the way your break things down into such clear explanations, highlight the key details, and don't assume viewers are trained auto mechanics. I'm reasonably handy but I'm not a "Real Mechanic", I just play one on TV, er, on Saturday morning in my driveway. Well done!!

Question: any reason now after replacing the harness the door will open but not close? Before replacing it worked both ways sporadically now it only opens. I put back in the old one just to make sure it was not something with the new one but now even the old one will only open the door.
@NaturesCadenceFarm Жыл бұрын
@TheBrandondorr that is interesting. I have never seen that before. Maybe a pin got bent or pushed out on one of the connectors. Will the door power open if the door is manually opened half way? Just a few things to check. ~Mr. C.

Would my 2012 be the same way to install. The wire broke on my passenger side and also I noticed the driver's door would not slide and I found a fuse that was blown so I guess the broken wire blew the fuse

Dennis Hanks I have not had the opportunity to work on a 2012. The 2005 I have is a fourth generation and the 2012 you have is a fifth generation. Since the two body styles are different I would say no but I could be wrong. Thanks for watching and asking. ~ Mr. C.

@@NaturesCadenceFarm I'm replying to let you know that I found out what happened was the wire got pinched on the sliding door which cause a fuse to blow on it. I have since replace the wiring on the sliding door and replace the fuse. the fuse actually controls both doors. I thought the doors would be on individual fuses but both sliding doors are only on one fuse. But I still appreciate all the information that you have given me that has helped me to figure out the problem that I had

Before purchasing a new harness, I am going to try an splice the broken wire which I was able to find. My question is if I disconnect the harness will doing so harm either the manual operation of the door or the electrical system ?
@NaturesCadenceFarm4 жыл бұрын
Loren Rush splicing is a great option, be careful not to allow the wire to short to ground and cause other problems. Disconnecting the harness has not caused any issues for me. The door will still manually open and close. Thanks for watching and asking! ~Mr. C.

Excuse me sir, what does carry this door? Just does top rail?
@NaturesCadenceFarm3 жыл бұрын
Abdullah Aybey there is a top rail that the door is supported and guided by. There is a bottom rail that supports the door and guides it too. There is one other support point and that is in the rear of the door near the center. There is a guide rail along the side of the van so when the door is open it is supported in the middle. I hope this is the answer you were looking for. If not, let me know. ~Mr. C.

I have repaired both sides of my 2004 Grand Caravan. The wire repair has lasted longer than the original. A question to all Automatic door owners. When the door is opened or closed manually there is a magnetic disc in the Power door moror that "disengages" the motor so that the door moves freely. I have found over time that the disc will keep the motor magnetically engaged and make the door difficult to move manually (feels like you are working against the stagnant motor). When I disassemble the motor and clean the disc it the manual operation works easy and "free". But this is often short-lived. Is there another way to clean the disc to have to keep for sticking over time.

I replaced the wiring track, but the door still doesn't work car won't start, the horn doesn't work and the mileage display doesn't come on. I unplug it and everything works. I'm stumped. I checked carefully the part number and year before ordering.
@NaturesCadenceFarm4 жыл бұрын
Ran Dome wow that sounds like one of those crazy electrical problems. Maybe there is an electrical short after the connector for the door. With that kind of massive electrical issue I would suspect the PCM is faulting out after the short and causing the issues described. I would check all of the wiring in the door for some sort of chaffing or a shorted door motor or lock solenoid. Hope this helps. ~Mr. C. Check out this video, it might help in getting the door apart to check. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3u5loaeesuIo5Y

@@NaturesCadenceFarm Well I went over the new wiring loom connections carefully and it looks like it was built incorrectly - the 12v and ground wires were swapped around at the end where you plug it into the door pillar. The connector at the door end were fine. I pulled the terminals out and swapped the wiring and It's ok again...except now that wiring is ok,. the door actuator seems broken...the actuator makes a noise when I press the open button but the door doesn't move.

@NaturesCadenceFarm Жыл бұрын
@jasonpantages7248 I have never had that happen. There is a catch in the bottom front roller that the handle opens. Maybe that has failed. I could make a short video of the operation. Thanks for watching. ~Mr. C.
