You could also take the pocket on the right of the shifter out. I had to do this when my mag needed towing and its much easier to pull out the pocket on the right. Theres a little cutout for it.

I have that same problem, but it also makes sounds like there's a problem at the shifter, like there is a relay or solenoid right clicking right below the shifter because you can feel it through the shifter. Did yours do that? Or do you know what that might be? Mine is an 06 Magnum RT with 40k miles.
