This generation of Hyundai Elantras are very reliable, a great value on the used car market. My 2005 is still going strong today with only one minor brake light issue one time, otherwise problem-free. In China they used to use these as Police cars due to being reliable.

Shmattice.. If your car is an auto, other than change auto oil and its filter, try check input and output sensor at gearbox side, hope this help..

I got this car about a year and a half ago and oh my god do these cars run. I use it to deliver pizza and it goes through the worst of the worst. It has over 150 thousand miles on it and it’s still going strong! Besides a radiator problem and a timing belt change this car has definitely stood the test of time and I love it. Great first car!

Hi, the transmission went out on it, but i recently had that fixed. Now, i need to fix some of the body...few dents here and there. Its a work in progress, but at least im able to drive it!

160k miles with a five speed. This car tought me everything. I have fixed, changed and added almost everything. engine oil, transmission oil, headlight covers, exhaust, brakes, foglights, subs, radio, drifting, window motors, and a spoiler. Really easy to modify. I love the front wheel drive. Rust belt has played its toll though

Right behind ya at 150K (hit the other day). I’m ordering some new things for it (coil packs, head gasket, TPS, ignition cables. Car has taught me some things too. I find it redundant to take it to a mechanic unless it’s something I really can’t fix. Other than that, fix it yourself

I bought this same car in same color new in 2005. Absolutely best Car I ever owned cost me $12500 out the door I put 95,000 miles on it before I traded it in in 2010 for a new Nissan versa. Not the crappy versa but the first generation the five door hatchback. It was also great car! Anyway, don’t forget the timing belt on this car. I did mine at 70,000 miles. I know yours has super low miles but it’s probably time to do it due to age age. I hope you still have the car and enjoying it.

How's it still going? Mines has close to 100,000 now got it at 89,000 earlier in the year. Only one owner tho and it's been decent other than the steering wheel always being off (even after an alignment)

Thank you for your Video on the 2005 Elantra. I had a white 2005 myself. My Parent's past away in 2018 and I inherited his 2007 Ford Focus. In 2019 when I bought my Hyundai Santa Fe I figured I was better off keeping The Focuse since it only had 37,000 Miles on it m 2005 Elantra had 72,000 on it so I traded it in for my 2017 Santa Fe Sport. WRONG MOVE! I wish I kept my 2005 Elantra and traded Dad's Focus instead! I had nothing but problem's with that car. To make the story short my Dad and Grandfather loved Fords. I myself never had any luck with them. My Grandfather's favorite car when he was young was the 1932 V8 Ford Roadster. Mine is the 2005 Hyundai Elantra! I wish I still had that car. Id go for it. My car is doing really good. The only thing to look out for in the future is your 100,000 maintenance. You can look up online what that in tales. Other than that it sounds like a good car.

Excellent Car. I own a 2005 Hyundai Elantra. I now experienced the Gold "Check," Light went on without any understanding. I take really "Excellent Care of My Baby!" I was at my Mechanic today. Put that New Device to find the fault. When this answer came up, it said my Tank was needing to be replaced? That's the entire fuel injection system. That's really scary. I just had New Brakes put on, in front. I know exactly when I fell something wrong. (Like Brakes) Any Certified Mechanic's know about a Fuel Tank? Thank You!

I have thought about a turbo but once its all said and done your talking more than $4,000. Yea the elantra has had i think 3 recalls on the headlights cause they kept fogging up. I'm trying my best to not have mine fog up.

I haves 2003 in white. It’s a little older and looks different than yours. It’s a good car. It has its problems, but it def is a good first car. The problem I say I have with it is it’s legroom. It’s really not there for someone like myself who is 6’4. But, it’s alright. I also hate the nets on the back of the seats. They look terrible overtime and I would want to get a replacement for both seats

Don't modify it. I was doing that to almost everyone car and motorcycle I had. Bad idea. Trust me. It is fast enough, and corners like it should. The ride is like a Cadillac. On the highway, my wife looked down at something in the passenger seat. Traffic stopped. She rear-ended a pickup coming home from the Hyundai dealership. She had a new radiator put in.
