In 2003 I purchased this vehicle brand new. Of course six speed. It had every option available on it. Especially the Brembo brakes package. I’ve owned several Zo6 corvettes and sports cars since. I will tell you the the G35 is my favorite.. Luxurious and 4 seats and with a couple of upgrade’s to the engine and exhaust I would give anyone a run for the money. I only regret trading it in a year later for the 04 or 05 which had more horsepower but less torque. Well that was a mistake. We all know it’s the torque that gives you that jump. Wish I never had sold it.

Thank you for this amazing video. Just bought a '04 G35x, 99,000km (61,515 miles) for $7,000 CAD / $5,547 USD. Been a great experience so far. Clean CarReport (supposedly better than CarFax but, as mentioned here, I take that with a grain of salt). There are small rust spots (2 inch) on the metal door separator between the front and back and some dinks and light scratches here and there. Still nothing at all to stop me from buying this car at that price. I have already taken it to a local Infiniti Dealer to replace the battery. They did their full diagnostic check (forget what it's called approx $140) and it was void of issues, which was great to hear. I will ask for that history report ASAP as I appreciate you giving the heads up on that. As this car is amazing and I want to keep it for a long time - My question is more about the best approach to maintenance. I should get the rust spots treated (does it matter if it's Infiniti or not for such a small cosmetic fix) Regular oil changes? Follow the service schedule? It all seems simple but any other pointers would be appreciated!
@everycarSeattle9 жыл бұрын
Jason Amaro Reinert You made a great buy. That car will be worth more than half of what you paid for it 10 years from now. You're cost per month in the end will be almost nothing and you git a used car nicer than most new cars. As for the rust, I'd get that treated by a body shop, it will keep the car from looking really bad several years from now. Do the regular maintenance just as Infiniti suggests. I've seen so many G's with over 300,000 kilometers it's silly. But they all have 1 thing in common, great service records. Congratulations on a great buy!
@jasonamaroreinert44999 жыл бұрын
Very happy with it so far and it's great to hear it so reliable - I was actually first looking for a 200 4/5 TL but after researching that car - it eventually became apparent that this was the gem of that era - it's however far exceeded my expectations. In regards for the Infiniti intranet records of the car - they said they couldn't due to privacy laws. Guess it might be a little different here in Canada.

Good point noting the clutch on manuals. For me its real important to check the quality of installed clutch on any manual car. And if it even feels anything less than smooth throughout the gear range both standing and on the road, I walk away cause I seriously do not want to deal with replacing a clutch.
@everycarSeattle9 жыл бұрын
+Asad the great That's a great observation Asad. Every shopper can use a little reminder that it is perfectly fine to just walk away, especially if everything isn't exactly up to your standards. It's your money, you worked your ass off for it, you are perfectly entitled to want what you want, in the condition you want, for the price you want to pay.
@asadb19909 жыл бұрын
everycarSeattle I agree. in the past I have walked from many cars if they were short of my expectation. Now I go in with reasonable expectations but sometimes the seller can be out to lunch on price and condition. One guy tried to sell me a pretty pricey vehicle on which he was firm on price but the car had series number paint chips on the hood. I knew that most body shops for the number of chips that would have to be fixed on that car would easily cost me like $1000 to fix and it was something that had to be done. I told the guy but he was like the repair is not necessary and I told him to keep his car.

I paid $3000 for mine, I got it from the original owner, low millage and is like new cause they took very good care of this car! I got a great deal on mine. I ended up changing a few things later and about $8500 later. This car is now like a beautiful work of art, with so much power! I love my 03 G35 and wouldn't sale it for any amount! In fact when I go, I will be leaving this car to my son! If you are looking for a nice, luxury sports car? The Infiniti G35 is the best one to own in my opinion! Honestly I think the one I have "the 03 from what I hear" is the best year model to own and sup up! You will love this car if you get it! Who knows maybe you will luck out like I did. Course I waited about 7 years before I found the best one for the money.
@everycarSeattle5 жыл бұрын
$3000? That is the best deal ever on anything...and from the original owner...and low miles...wow, what a find! Then to spend some money making it the nicest one in town. That might be the single most intelligent car purchase I have ever heard of. You've got to post a link to some pics on that one, that's an amazing lesson people would do well to learn from before they run out and drop $30 grand on some anonymous car with basic power, no personality and no resale value

Hey! You are awesome Joe! I am looking into purchasing an Infiniti G35 Coupe 2004-2005. How much, on average, would it cost to maintain the car if it has and will be done on a scheduled basis? Also, midway through the video you said that certain parts of the car need to be replaced in the car after a certain amount of miles with one part regarding the water valve. Is this true for both manual and automatic transmission cars or just manual? I remember you mentioning problems occurring with the clutch in the manual car so I am not sure if parts need to be replaced for both or just manual. Thank you for your time! +everycarSeattle +nicecarsandnicehousesonSeattle'sEastside
@everycarSeattle8 жыл бұрын
+Matthew Adams The 2005 is a revised body style with lots of differences, especially in the interior. I personally have an '05. Clutches are ridiculously expensive in G35's, but a dealer can tell you how much life you should expect when you get your pre-sale buyer's inspection, which is a must. The 6 speed will always be worth more than the A/T. so that's something to consider. There is no timing belt in a G35 so you don't have to worry about that, but there is a water pump which typically gets replaced around 100k, as do the spark plugs and typically the suspension bushings as well. Brakes are expensive and tend to wear out sooner than other sports cars, so make sure you know how much life is remaining. BOSE cd players are notorious for eating your cd's, so check that out. Overall, the quality of a properly maintained G35 is amazing, but they're old enough now where that "properly maintained" part is a big deal.

It is a 2004 Infiniti G35 coupe manual 6-speed car with 99750 miles asking for 7500. here are the owner's description: - New transmission package! - New breakpads AND rotors! - original Brembo rotors included - Oil-servicing has been conducted using Platinum synthetic within the recommended mile-points. - Two new tires / Other 2 tread @ half-life and should last another year or so. Now I'm no expert on cars, so do you think this is a good deal? and as far as the transmission goes, is this a good transmission/clutch? Or how should i inspect the transmission/clutch when I go test drive it? and other parts like breaks? Is there a website where i can look up the car's services by using the vin number? Thank you very much!

What's your opinion on the automatic and manual versions of this? Are the differences to the performance significant?
@everycarSeattle6 жыл бұрын
The 6 speed coupe is about as perfect a car as there is. Everything about the 6 speed maximizes performance and connection to the driving experience. The automatic is great and it's a great car with an automatic, but the 6 speed is a different experience altogether.

Oh god, that aftermarket alarm thing is so true, at least from my experience. My grandma bought a new accord back in 1993. Accords are known for being reliable, but god, that alarm she put in it fucked it up so much. It always had problems, and the older the car got, the worse the electrical problems became. It got to the point where we couldn't even start the car because the alarm wouldn't fully disarm, and unfortunately (for us, not for anyone else), the company that installed the alarm went out of business, so we couldn't have it properly serviced.

KerryInTheNameOf At least 1 in 4 serious problems I have ever encountered on an older car have had something to do with an aftermarket alarm.

@@everycarSeattle I do! I took your advise and took it to my local Infiniti Dealer and had them do the 160+ item check ($125 and worth it) on it and they found some small issues most I can fix myself (lower control arm for example). It was a nice experience... they treated me as if I bought a new car from them... after the check up they even washed the car which was awesome. All in all what a fantastic car. Thanks again you give great advice. Stay safe!

Sir ! you're a brilliant salesman , i want to ask you about my g35 . i'm from lebanon so we don't have these records cause no one here sends his car to the manufacturer . i bought a g35 last week and fixed some small issues but i still have the Check Engine Soon + i noticed that the water temperature is high ( the Cooling Fan is not working ) . i started it up today and i was going out of the garage then i noticed that the car is barely moving when i'm trying to climb a Slope it wasn't like that yesterday . what could be the problem ? Thanks
@everycarSeattle9 жыл бұрын
+JISA It could be a serious problem. Whenever a performance car (or any car really, but a performance car especially) has overheating issues of any kind, it needs to go to the dealer right that minute. Lots of things can be repaired, but an overheated motor cannot.

Not that much of a Nissan/Infiniti guy but if I get like $12k I might get one of these things. The fact that they're RWD, have good power, a manual, and 2 extra seats makes them rare in the used market.

Darkmatter28031 G35's are where it's at for 12 grand. Take one out for a weekend and you'll fall instantly in love, especially if it's a 6 speed.

everycarSeattle shit why would you pay $12k for it? on copart or some other auction get it for like 4 grand. of course it will be hit but fixing it is fun. lol with $12k you can get one, fix it, and put sick mods on it. I love the g35 so I've done my research.

@everycarSeattle6 жыл бұрын
Yes. That's a great buy m_eazy...so long as it passes a buyer's inspection at the Infiniti dealer. It's the best $129 you will ever spend. Even if it has an issue or two, it will help you negotiate the price.

JeanChristophe Boux the AWD version might be a good option for you. I live in south Texas, so I'm obviously not an expert on snowy/icy roads, but I would think the AWD models would be safer in those conditions.

Joe bro!! Mate, even today you are reaching out to the people with this video! I have been a car nut since 15yrs old ( but have progressed to a stud!! Boom boom) owning 11.5sec Aussie muscle to Dato 120 Bs but just recently was the lucky recipient of a GT 350 Skyline Coupe Primium (Aussie but 100% same car) through circumstances that were not of my choice and as such new nothing of these vehicle's. So I start to look at what I've been landed with, well the progression was swift giving me an appetite for info, is this car to be believed? Everything is telling me it's to good to be true there for it is but I have to follow through until I satisfied that my trusted and learnt saying was provin but nothing on the internet was giving a clear indication frustrating me no end!! Then the jewel in the crown 👑 Your video!! that while the most informative it wasn't that aspect of your video that gave me the realisation that I have come across a to good to be true vehicle judging it against the standard of all other vehicles. You reminded me of what's important when valuing a car and what determines value when making a purchase, trust in what is right in front of your eyes and what it is telling you without prejudice, so thanks mate!! That said, WHAT A GREAT CAR!! Best secret in Aussie and those who mostly know of it are Skyline purists snobs that see it for what it means to them, something that doesn't justify their purchase and ownership of their vehicles.

Hey joe, I was wondering... Do you think this is a good car for a first car? I need something that I can handle and I think this car is awesome, I've been eyeing one for 11k with 110k miles
@everycarSeattle9 жыл бұрын
Big Z Great car for your first car, your last car or any car in between. It's one of my favorite cars for a million reasons (not to mention my own car is a G coupe) and I think 11 grand for a nice car with 110k makes sense...so long as it passes a buyer's inspection at an Infiniti dealer.
@Primathys10 жыл бұрын
Can you get G's inspected at a Nissan place too?
@everycarSeattle10 жыл бұрын
Vince Carter No. Here's the reason...Infiniti uses some old fashioned intranet system called Infinitinet that dealers love because it costs next to nothing. The big plus is that it is on an intranet not on the internet, so you can see every service record on any Infiniti going back to day 1, even if the car was serviced at an Infiniti store 2000 miles away. Not only do you see the records, you see the mechanics comments, which can be really informative. Nissan does not have Infinitinet, even though they are the same company, so you see pretty much only what was done at that store. The scary thing about Infinitnet is that you have to sign a release to let Carfax access the information, which a lot of dealers won't do. Therefore, you have A LOT of bad Infiniti's with clean Carfax reports...so, get your inspection at an Infiniti dealer.

Need your advise, found 2005 G35 coup, auto, 80000miles, front suspension need to replace, pricing range $9000. how much it would cost to fix the suspension? is the asking price reasonable?
@everycarSeattle9 жыл бұрын
***** The price is good and the miles are nice. This might be an opportunity to put a more aggressive aftermarket suspension upgrade on the car since it sounds like it needs struts and bushings anyway. Bushings go out in G35's all the time and sound bad but they're actually not super expensive to replace. Going all the way to a coil-over package with urethane bushings at all 4 corners is about a grand to two grand depending on the brand.

If you want to save that cost of the check engine light inspection, the tool with the code reader DOES save you some value. Knowing the code is O2Sensor or something more serious or maybe it shows 5 separate codes, then you AT LEAST KNOW the severity of the issue at least. Especially if you're getting the car in this condition for $6k (2016 Used Price for this car)
@everycarSeattle8 жыл бұрын
The tool works on a surface level, I agree. However, if you use an Infiniti dealer who has serviced and sold thousands of this very car, they know exactly what they are looking for to ensure you minimize your problems down the road.
@SolRyuKen9 жыл бұрын
hey Joe great video and very informative I love your g35 videos! I've been looking at g35 coupes in the last 6-8 weeks. I finally found one with decent miles for a low price, 79k for 8k. Is it worth it if(when) i have to replace the clutch.
@everycarSeattle9 жыл бұрын
Amaury De Jesus If you factor the clutch into the deal then yes, it's a smart buy. I just hate hearing about when people buy a G and the clutch feels good so they pass on getting it inspected only to get a huge unexpected bill.
