2005 Subaru Forester 4 pot upgrade

In this video I show in detail how to install the upgraded 4 piston brakes on a 2005 Forester. There are no special parts you need for this install, even the OEM rims will clear these brakes. There are many places to get these parts, just make sure you are getting them for a 2006 WRX.

That bracket has a spring coushin to keep even wear on your break pads, so if yours fade before normal, you know why

When swapping all four calipers does the order matter? Is it better to swap fronts, bleed or rears, bleed first? Thanks

General rule, start furtherest wheel/line away from master and work your way to the closest one. Don’t let brake reservoir run dry…. 😎👍🏻

Are the front brake pads the same part number for both the original caliper and the 4 pot?

They are not, i dont know the part number, but the pads are a different shape. The pads in the 4 pots are rectangular. Not the weird brake pad shape you get in the oem 2 pots.

I just did this mod about 2 months ago, to my sg xten Admit it, the upgrade isnt quite what you were expecting performance wise is it? They do look cool tho. I find they performed pretty much on par with the 2pots, except worse at dissipating heat. Which makes sense given the enclosed nature of the upgraded caliper. They do have a much better feel though.

You got the wrong size rotors, you bought 277mm you needed 294mm
