2005 toyota sienna sliding door latch lock actuator motor repair

6:45 Finally I found someone who supports my theory to use a drill to remove the 2 screws holding the actuator to the panel. I don't have a dremel to cut the screw head off nor a torch to heat it up I already bought the complete OEM part since I'm not planing to repair the old one, might as well destroy the old one to save time . I have a professional drill bit set and I'll try my way up from the smallest bit to the biggest required. Part number for driver side 85620-08071 for $95 and part number for the OEM screw with loctite already applied 69296-08030 for $1.50 plus shipping, you need two new screws. I bought them online from a Toyota dealer McGeorge Toyota Online Parts.

I drilled the screws, but I used a professional grade drill bits (Milwaukee) from Home Depot. I started with the smallest and gradually to the one with the size of the screw. It worked!

I used my soldering iron to hear the end of the bolt while applying pressure to the screw with a short #2 Phillips once the bolt is got enough to hear up the massive amount of thread lock they use it came out fairly easily. I also used the heat to melt the plastic I cracked when I first started bought a couple new screws to replace the ones I stripped at the home Depot and it when back together smooth.

I have a 2006 Sienna LE. Passenger side power sliding door will not do the latch cycle, if I push from outside it will latch. Its opens normally on push button. the problem is intermittent do you have any clue what would be the problem? thanks in advance

Has anyone tried to cut into the plastic housing and just replace the motor w/o removing the assembly off the door at all?

HELP! I replaced the motor in the actuator from a motor from digikey.. now the actuator arm moves when activated to open the door, but the arm doesn't complete the reverse action to get it back to default position.. without the arm back in default position, the door doesn't fully lock open or entirely shut closed... Any thoughts?

hi, do you recall if there was any coiled spring inside? i have forgotten how it returns to the initial starting position, by spring action, or by other means. are you doing passenger or drivers side? if passenger side, i think ebay has them for under $40. if drivers side, more pricey.

Toyota should pay for this defective repair. I have to fix my again. It was a headache to fix this darn thing. Toyota wanted us to take our cars to their dealer so they could make a lot money for this very stupid design.
