Have never seen Wang Hao so spooked. It's like Maze played on one weakness at the start, and then the rest of his game fell apart. The question is, did Maze ever beat him again?

Also consider how modern Wang Hao's style was. His technique was years ahead of the rest of the world, when it comes to penholders. I think he ever lacked a bit of the mind game, so he kinda always was the silver guy at the OGs.

@@IgneelS11 yeah Wang Hao was a great player but known for his mentaln weakness obviously at least to the Chinese At one point he did not want to play on and had a crisis of confidence. In fact Guoliang the coach dealt with it wisely just telling him to take it one game at a time but play your best there is NO PRESSURE and if U lose so be it It was great psychology because Guo could see the pressure was getting to him. In fact the statergy worked so well that Wang Hao went on to win the whole tournament[I can't recall which one but I am quite sure it was an one of the OLYMPIC GAMES. Unbelievable that I have forgotten well at least right now trying to remember. I will probably remember today later on some time]

Why do people always shit on Hao Shuai with his inability to kill lob shots but not WH when WH did even worse here against Maze's lobbing. Literately, WH lost all points where Maze was lobbing against him lol.

What I don't like in general is when something is unconventional. I will have to get used to it to endure or even win a match, for example. Maybe that's your point. On the other hand he appears to be a little arrogant, which could be due to the high level and famousness he could celebrate in the European game.
