Even when Waldner loses he comprehensively outclasses his opponents

To put this in perspective, Maze is bourn 1981! 1982 Waldner made his big breakthrogh in the european championships where he lost a close game to9wards Michael Applegren. 23 years later these to meet!

Saknar Maze vilken komplett bordtennis spelare, synd att han var tvungen att sluta på denna nivå på grund av sitt dåliga knä 🙏🏓🙏 Mvh.Wester Ifk Klagshamn btk

I think Waldner threw like 20 topspins in the whole match... And it was still a close match... LOL... GOAT!

The effortless forehand pivot down the line performed at 0:59 is light years ahead any current European player in terms of footwork and stroke mechanics.See how beautifully shifts his weight forward to produce good raquet head speed.He hits so deep with so much confidence.The guy was 40yo with a broken back and still delivered. Imagine Ovtcharov with his extremely square stance, cramped elbow and extreme backhand grip trying that shot.LOL. Waldner was one of the very few Europeans who could match Asian players in forehand to forehand rallies.

waldner was already a older player. you cant compare, but I'm pretty shure he would win fairly easy if he were in his younger playing ways..I do like Michael maze a lot tho...

I know it's Waldner, the Mozart of TT, but it's not very entertaining play. Almost no long rallies, and so much pushing. Todays game is a lot better.

Have you watched Calderano?Almost no long rallies,and so much backhand flicking.
@micheldroguett3 жыл бұрын
He could change shots during on a rally, nobody else could make it, topspin, loopsing sidesping, fake topsping during a rally. How else make do it nowadays?
