Clear concise and straight to the point. I liked it. Thanks.

I just had to replace the hub and wheel bearing on my 2008 Audi A4 and had to change the process a little bit. I did it in my driveway with a 3-Ton jack and Jack Stands. On the 2008 A4 the ball joints are set-up different. Instead of 3 bolts on the bottom there is one bolt on the bottom and one bolt on the top (both 18mm). I tried to removes those but once I got the bolts off the ball joint was stuck in place (Wisconsin car). So I put the bolts back on and instead removed the 6 triple square bolts (M10) for the other side of the axle. I then was able to remove the axle altogether which gave me the needed room to remove the 4 (M12) bolts for the wheel bearing. I found that by removing the entire axle it did not ruin the Audi's alignment either. The process was the same after that until you get to installing the wheel bearing. I needed to slide the axle back into place without tighten the 6 (M10) bolts and threading it through the new wheel bearing (gently of course as to not damaged the threads on the axle). Once I got the axle re-threaded I went back and tighten the 6 (M10) bolts and then tighten the 4 (M12 bolts). Everything from there was the same. I'm not sure if the ball joint set-up issue is just for 2008 Audi A4's but figured I'd share. That said, GREAT VIDEO!! I would never have been able to do this without it! Keep posting more, especially for Audi B7's! I would love to see you replace a clutch if possible. Thanks!

12:36 "you can reuse the old bolt" From my investigations that hub bolt (24-point head without serrated flange part number WHT005437) is a single-use TTY (torque to yield) bolt.

Great video very informative. I have a 2007 A4 Quattro and everything I find on the web does not show the hub and bearing as a combo. Where did you order this full assembly from? Everything I find shows just the bearing and no Hub hub that you mount the rotter to with it?

Is there a different way to remove the rust from the assembly other than a metallic brush? Was thinking vinegar, but would that damage the ABS sensor?

Great Video guys, I've and Audi A6 C6 4F2 that needs the bearing changing as the ABS is playing up, changed the ABS Sensor and ABS module but no joy. Tha only leaves the Magnet in the Bearing!! (As shown by the low reading from the VCDS print out) keep the videos comming. Thanks.

Hi. I drive a 2008 A3 S-Line. I need new wheel hub bearings but i see that there are 2 options, a 3 bolt flange and a 5 bolt flange. Which one is the right one?

Can the wheel bearing bolts be taken out without dropping the lower control arm? Is there enough room to slide the axle out of the knuckle slightly to get the bolts out?
@EDGEMOTORS10 жыл бұрын
could be, try it... i take the axle out just in case so i dont damage it

how different is a 2009 audi a4 from this and are all the tools the same esspecially the m12 because i cant find that anywhere and have to order it.
@EDGEMOTORS10 жыл бұрын
that would be almost the same...
@kirkthenavyseal10 жыл бұрын
EDGEMOTORS are there any major differences also for the slide hammer will a regular slide hammer and puller do it or do i need the audi one you had? and where did you get the M12?
@EDGEMOTORS10 жыл бұрын
ryan kirk there is no difference on the slide hammer.... the audi adapter bolts up better and stays more firm, so you put more stress on the part you hammering, which makes it come out easier....
@ojashbd10 жыл бұрын
great job guys....Liked your video so much. A question though: Do you think it can be done without power tools?
@EDGEMOTORS10 жыл бұрын

That's not a bearing it's a hub.
@EDGEMOTORS9 жыл бұрын
The hub, is the part that you bolt your wheel to. The parts that we replaced, is a wheel bearing and hub assembly.
@jameslochridge42659 жыл бұрын
I know but that's not what it says in the description.
@EDGEMOTORS9 жыл бұрын
+James Lochridge The video and the title is how to replace the wheel bearing. The fact that the bearing that we put in came with the hub, makes no affect on the fact that the video is about bearing replacement.
