Beautiful illustration. I think God for you. We need mechanics like this in this world. You know what they are doing. Thank you you made it easier for me.

Thanks for posting this video. I just followed the instruction and successfully redid my Passenger side complete cv boots using the Renz boot kits outter and innner Audi tt 2002 Quattro. Very helpful instructional video. Thank you again Edge Motors.

Outstanding video! I was able to do this job myself at home without any problems thanks to your instruction saving me garage bills and time. I've subscribed for more knowledge and learning opportunity. Thanks very much! Skott - England - UK

Do you have to do the alignment again? Asking because aren't those 3 camber adjustment bolts being removed? Thank you for any info. Best.
@EDGEMOTORS4 жыл бұрын
In this car those are not camber adjustment bolts...
@dougb52022 жыл бұрын
Are you sure about that? When you loosened the last ball joint nut you could see the whole steering knuckle assembly move outward. Those 3 ball joint holes in the control arm are oval and not round, this allows for movement/adjustment to the correct camber angle.
@big-R2 жыл бұрын
@@dougb5202 Yeah, I also thought that it was adjustable on the TT. At least mine are.

Also for diy viewers, if you drill the axle bolt into the outer axle shaft, it'll pull it out if your scared to damage components with hammer.

Hi what I do to remove the outer cv joint is i made 2 tool one for the cv nut 30 mm and the model with the allen bolt I use a big slide hammer so the outer cv joint goes out easy most of the time i I leave the shaft in the car but on passat and audi cars I do remove the shaft it makes it much easier I notice too that the rubber boots like GKN or Loboro don't last as long as the original ones from the dealer the plastic ones are fine tho. It goes to all most all rubber parts including control harm bushings.
@EDGEMOTORS10 жыл бұрын
V10PDTDI yeap, some of the bushings are even made differently, making them not suitable for the purpose....

Hi, I was wondering if you have any videos of replacing inner cv boot. I replaced the inner boot however after installing the boot, bearing, tripod, then hammering tripod back into flange, it started clicking slightly... I don't understand what i did wrong during that process. However i would very much like to know what had gone wrong! Maybe it could've been, i taped the three bearings back on tripod head with rubber hammer, they felt unusually loose after that. I had no access to press or vice, to press them in slowly some how. I don't know how else they could go back on besides tapping them in place with non marring tool of some kind. I had to take the bearings off initially to hit the tripod head with some wood and hammer to slide it off the teeth. There was no other way to do this with my resources, other than the hammer and piece of wood. I will most likely end up replacing whole axle for $80 aftermarket, i paid around $15 (GKN) for the new inner boot.

when removing outer cv housing, you have to hammer on the "hard part"?
@EDGEMOTORS6 жыл бұрын
At the part that slides onto the axle shaft only, MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT HIT ANYTHING ELSE, very easy to crack it and then you will need a new axle
@jonathanschomer68536 жыл бұрын
@@EDGEMOTORS thank you for helping. I managed to take a larger hammer such as you would use on rusty brake discs and I put the outer CV housing straight perpendicular with the axle shaft and I banged on it a few times and it busted free with no damage except for some dimples on the outer CV housing. Balls and inner race are okay. I had a hard time trying to hammer on the inner "hard part."

if remove the 3 nuts on the bottom of the control are you should have realignment check for camber. better to take of the nut (18mm I think) from the ball joint
@EDGEMOTORS9 жыл бұрын
+Steve Richardson those bolts adjust camber only on R32's and camber kits... the golfs and jettas they not adjustable...
@dougb52022 жыл бұрын
I noticed that too, for alignment purposes they should have just separated the ball joint from the steering knuckle. I have to do mine this week, the inner boot is cracked and needs replacing.

Is it really necessary to replace the ring and the spacer? The Febi Bilstein kit i got does have these. It gives you a new axle nut tho..

What's the purpose of smearing the grease in the boot? It seems to me all of the grease should be pushed between the balls and cage of the joint. Any extra would then move into the boot anyway. I don't think you put that much grease on the balls and cage.

EDGEMOTORS Hey remember when you guys and the towing company you recommended destroyed my front bumper and refused to make it right?
@EDGEMOTORS10 жыл бұрын
Dennis Gonoud what kind of car did you have? if we do damage to any of our customers cars, we take care of it... was it us that did damage, or the tow company?
@dmg14b10 жыл бұрын
EDGEMOTORS 2001 Audi TT. You guys did the clutch. Sergey said he'd find a bumper and keep in touch. That was 18 months ago.
@EDGEMOTORS10 жыл бұрын
Dennis Gonoud oooo, i remember now, you had an agreement with the tow company that we find the bumper and install it for you, and the tow company takes care of the bill. i never heard from neither of you guys about it ever again... and actually asked the tow company about it later on and they said that you guys agreed on something. so i thought that it was taken care of... let me find out from those guys what happen....

EDGEMOTORS that's bull. He never returned my phone calls. Had to buy an aftermarket bumper. You guys do good work but reference you customers to shady people who don't follow up on promises and have to drive around with a destroyed bumper for 18 months because the garage and tow company don't care about the customer.

Dennis Gonoud i am very sorry about that bad experience that you had with the company we reffered you to. but thats a separate company that we use, and we can not be responsible for actions of other companies. We only recomend companies that do the best service, to the best of our knowledge. we had never had a situation like that with that company before, or after that incident. you should of called me and let me know that this was the case... i would of help you out in getting them to fix the damage. like i said before, if that would of been our fault, and we would of caused damage to your car, it would of been taken care of right the way no questions asked.once again im sorry for your bad experience, next time you come by for service we will try to give you the highest discount we can.
