do you have to take both front seats out to get the arm rest piece out? I want to put in my own center counsel like you would buy and put in a mini van I have 3 different size ones so one should fit

Unless you have swivel sockets that would allow you to get to the bolts, then yes you would have to take them out. Sounds like the center console you have in mind will be pretty cool.

Hey man, I just recently bought a 2012 Chevrolet Impala LT one thing I don’t like about it is that that seats do not fold down and has no centre arm rest. I didn’t see in this video whether or not when you swapped the non-folding down rear seats with the ones that do do you need to do anything in the trunk to have that mechanism work?

They are luckily all built the same. It will fit right in and work like it should.

Doing this to my car currently. What did you ever come up with to put in the spot where the floor shifter hole was in the console? That is the only thing I'm having trouble with.

I took and cut a stiff but think door mat. It looked pretty good.

You can buy/make 3d printed molds to fill the hole, for either cup holders or just a useable tray

When you did the wiring, was it difficult?

No everything plugged right in. No wiring needed.

I couldn't find any good videos, that is why I decided to just swap them out, that and they were in bad shape. Sorry I'm no help.

Hi, just wandering. Was the parts car the same exact year as that Impala you have? I’m trying to figure out if 2008 Impala SS seats would fit in my 2013 Impala lt.

Parts car was a 2013. The car it went in was a 2006.

Did you have to disconnect the battery at all ? I’ve been looking to do a cloth seat to leather seat change but idk if the electrical wiring is all the same.

No I didn't. The seats plugged right in, looks like they were all wired from the factory. Except for the heated seats, you woul have to run wiring for that part of it.

When you replace the interior in that Impala was that center console hard to vote down I'm in the process of doing the exact same thing

Hey do you mind me asking did you ever get the heated seats working? Was it the wiring for where the seats went or for where the switch unit is on the dash? Or both? Obviously with these models they aren’t going to be plug and play but if I were to grab the correct switch unit with a clipped connector I’m trying to figure out what other wiring I would need to do to put heated in my ls and if I would only need to worry about the dash or the seat clips too. And so far have you had any electrical problems with the clips for the seat drawing too much 12volt from them not being the same clips?

I never got the heated seats working. I sold the car before I got that far. I did take the heated controls out of the car that I got the seats out of.

It's been a little while, but I think if you have the seats out you can see the bolts at the bottom on the sides.

How’d you get the plastic part to wor right?

For the rear seats? It just lined up and then there was one nut that went on a stud in the middle.
