Can I replace a non-comfort access style fob with replaceable battery comfort access fob as a replacement part? My backup key fob is always dead (uncharged) when I need it.

You might but it seems like more work. The reason it dies is because it is recommended to use the key 2 times a year for a long drive. Seems your battery was drain for too long and now it does not keep the charge.

I’ve changed the battery correctly. Everything like the central lock/unlock buttons in the car work. The doors unlock and lock with the internal physical key but still the the non comfort key won’t open work. What now? Any help is greatly appreciated!

No remote reprogramming required after installation.

I went to the BMW dealership and they wanted $300 for a new fob (they are crazy) and they won't replace this kind of battery. Is there anyone in Southern California that can do this kind of job? Please send me contact info.
