That A4 was built in a time when Audi produced high quality and reliable cars. Somehow I miss that time back when Audi produced really high standard models. In my opinion that was between 2003 and 2018. Simply take a look at the interior of that 2006 A4....it‘s like new

For the record: my A4 has the same engine and quattro, but is Avant and has manual transmission - it did 230 km/h (GPS) at 6th gear with 1 run only when a car appeared in front of me. I haven't tested it on 5th gear, but I think it will do 240+. I almost never drive at these speeds, so I am not sure that I am going to test it again. At least it won't be soon. What I really love is its' standing start and 0-100 acceleration.

It's a relatively easy task, just quite involved. I did my b7 recently and re-sealed everything up top. New intake cam, lapped valves etc. It runs much better and more satisfying than when I 1st got it for sure.

@@jefffalk8484 I have everything apart down to the pistons. Did you sand down the surfaces of the block and head? Thank you!
@jefffalk84842 жыл бұрын
@@raphaelfrancis4509 No, I used a razor blade and removed the residue from across gasket surfaces. You may find some paint peeling from the block but that's normal. Just make sure you clean it really good and wipe it down with rubbing alcohol and a lint free cloth. Cyl head can be planed at a machine shop. Have it pressure tested! Cheap insurance. But you will have to remove cams. Those only go on one way just follow TDC #1 piston and timing marks on exhaust cam sprocket and notation on plastic guard behind sprocket. Pretty easy honestly. Rear cam items (chain tensioner) are recommended at this point. 160$ or so. Check your metal sealing rings on rear cover. Make sure there's no deformation in all 3.

@@jefffalk8484 Thank you very much for all the assistance! I will get all of the stuff changed and for the next 100,000 miles. Thanks again!
@jefffalk84842 жыл бұрын
@@raphaelfrancis4509 you're welcome. Keep in mind, when you install the front timing belt...install the belt before the tensioner. Doing this allows for easier control of belt tension. You want as little slack in the front portion. Front portion meaning the belt wraps around the exhaust camshaft grooved pulley, down under the top roller, over the water pump and then around the crank grooved pulley. Zero slack on that part of the routing. Install tensioner onto stud with belt against it. Pointer in the center of the flat spot. You'll see what I mean. Making sure you hold the rearward (left portion) of belt in crank grooves along with cam sprocket grooves. The slack should always remain on opposite side of cam/crank rotation on these types of arrangements. So you'll not have to take the belt back off because slack will cause it to be out of time. Doing it this way will ensure your timing is spot on. Once all is installed, rotate engine over by hand, socket on crank pulley. Do it as many times as you feel necessary to be comfortable with it. At least twice though. As far as rear timing chain goes, install tensioner 1st. And install chain while cams are loose (if not replacing the VVT sprocket) follow install guide found in a tech/service manual as this part can be messed up easily if you didn't make any timing marks with a marker etc.

@RenegadeTNTАй бұрын
@@noverixx So a small lil update…. I’ve had some issues with it so far. Most things were errors that other people made or I made, but one sticks out. As of like, I don’t know, last week? I turned my car on for ten minutes and let it idle so it wasn’t like freezing, ya know? And I’ve known that I had a very small oil leak before hand and I’ve had to add more, but when I say this mofo left a pool, I mean this mofo left a pool of oil. I got it checked out and it turns out it’s like the drivers side seal or something like that. A costly fix, I suppose, but better than passenger side. It does consume fuel to a decent amount, I’m not gonna lie. I’ll travel only like 9 miles or something like that and sometimes it’ll go down 15 miles, but that’s honestly most likely because I drive it so hard. If you accelerate like a normal person and drive it, fuel should be okay. I’ve found that 70-80 mph is the most optimal for fuel consumption, so try that speed on the highways when you can.
