Hello, what electric tool did you use? and do you think resurfacing the cylinder head is necessary here? thanks

This is just a valve cover gasket. if you have damaged mating surface, by all means make it smooth again, otherwise just cleaning it is fine.

Would you happen to know what's the valve cover bolts torque and sequence specifications when you tightening the bolts back on the engine on a 2008 Audi A4 quattro convertible 2.0? Do you have to thight the bolts 3 times and then on the last third time you torque the bolts using the torque wrench? I heard the torque is 7ft pounds others say is 8 and 10. Which one is it? I'm new at this and don't want to damage anything. Do you have to remove the pcv valve from the valve cover or not? I watched another KZbin video in which the person removed the screws to break it loose from the valve cover but left the valve cover in the same spot of the engine and just removed the valve cover. Hope you can help me out.

Shame you didnt do the lower spark plug tube seal.

Hey Alex , just wandering how much u charging for this and for spark plug and coils pack replacement?
@beastcarsnj8684 жыл бұрын
Hi Keanu. This job would be 250 for labor. Plus the cost of the parts. Which would vary based on what type of parts you choose. OEM from the dealer or aftermarket.

@@beastcarsnj868 how much difference between oem and aftermarket?
@beastcarsnj8683 жыл бұрын
@@keanu7126 I would stick with oem or at least a very good aftermarket brand like denso or ngk, it's a pretty involved process and you only want to do it as many times as absolutely needed.

Shame you didn't do the other side :( I has mine replaced but the right side at the rear there seems to be a small leak right at the back between the cover and the rear cam cover..but looks like its from the gasket. I've googled this and other have he same issue as it drips oil onto the exhurst manifold. Have you seen this?
@beastcarsnj8684 жыл бұрын
Its very similar, just be careful when you do this job, not to fold over any part of the gasket. it can cause a surge in idle, poor running and a lean condition. Otherwise its a relatively simple job on most Audi vehicles. Let me know if you want me to walk you through it.

I am in the same boat as you Phillip. Did everything go well?
@DebtFreeCars4 жыл бұрын
I agree this is only a quarter of the job. Thanks for the video though. There’s a lower valve gasket cover that is sealed with rtv. This I would say where it leaks the most.

No gasket sealant?
@beastcarsnj8683 жыл бұрын
If using quality gasket, no sealant is required. This is part of routine maintenance for me. Every 40 to 50k miles.
