My stratus is my beater. I need coolant and looked under that hood like wait a minute 😮 I know there are two parts to most coolant systems but this one is way more complicated. This video is brilliant yet so simple, just bought a 2005 Sebring 2.7 with 30,000 miles. The car is perfect but was owned by a 93 year old woman who did not keep the oil or antifreeze level up. Oil down 2 quarts, needed almost a gallon of antifreeze. Couldn't get heat until I saw this tutorial. I was very nervous, as I am aware of the track record of this engine. Thought maybe she overheated the engine and warped the heads but decided to take a chance with this car based on the overall condition. Heat is strong now, the temperature gauge is steady and where it should be. The air bleed housing is leaking which explains why the antifreeze was down. I will change the water pump, timing chains etc as preventive maintenance. I am comfortable going forward with this engine now. Thanks

you said the hose/funnel goes to the reservoir.. Where actually is it connected, somewhere to the right of the washer fluid reservoir?

It's connected to the hose that connects to the coolant reservoir.

Chrysler's coolant is Zerex G-05 not Dex-cool.

It takes the Dex Cool from the factory, but if you're not certain, use some universal coolant that is able to mix with all types.

I did this with the hose and funnel and all of a sudden car is running hot, ended up on side of the road, wouldn't recommend this, I could see the coolant added this way but it never seemed to enter the system I think I ended up overfilling the system.

I've been fighting the same on 2010 sebring 2.7l. I add coolant then the car overheats and coolant is bubbling in the overflow and steam coming out. Then the car cold off and runs fine with low coolant. But everytime I try and refill it it overheats but often can go an hour or two just fine before it overheats that's why I don't think it's the head gasket

Are you still out there! I have a strange problem with my 02 sebring 2.7. The overflow tank never gets pressurized. I've replace the original cap with a pressure relief lever cap and it still does not pressurize. Fortunately , there isn't any cooling issues. No loss of fluid, no leaks, fluid looks great. The interior gets heat. the temp gauge is two ticks up from cold during normal temps after warmup max. Same when it's cold out. It takes about 15 minutes to start warming up the interior on a cold day. When it hot it's almost at midway. I'm not sure why there is no pressure.

I'm still around and have a few vids to post. But it sounds like yours might be running optimal. It's not overheating, and you have heat. The next ? is with a scanner, will it warm up past 180°? The optimal operating temp is 180° to 200°, which ideal for best fuel mileage and performance.

Anytime the coolant system has been open, that's how you bleed the air out.

@@Winkyydink92 Sense I posted that I have found out that yes when there is air in the coolant lines it does cause the car to overheat. so there's a little brass bleeder valve at the top of the engine that you open up...(righty tighty lefty loosey)...you only need to turn it a little bit and then attach a clear plastic hose to catch the fluid when it starts to flow And let the fluid empty into a container as opposed to the ground. when the car starts to warm up the radiator fluid starts to flow out along the tube along with bubbles ( that you will see) and when it's a clear steady line/stream of radiator fluid you know you've gotten all the air bubbles out🥳 mind you, make sure you're adding a little radiator fluid to the radiator fluid fill Container on the side so it doesn't start sucking air again😉👍😎

Do u open the bleeder while car is running with ac heat on hi to get air bubbles out ,then close it once air bubbles are gone?

@@blackshine007 is it a drill or impact type?... I found it at the harbor! Keyword is ratchet. 2 times the torque at 60lbs of the 3/8 milwaukee at 1/3 price with coupon. They big project it to replace the thermostat. Little did I know it's behind the alternator! So this tool is going to stop a few knuckles from getting busted open! That's the plan.
