How is there not a class action lawsuit regarding this issue? I have a 2006 Dakota 4.7 HO and spent a good deal of money chasing this issue with no luck. Don’t feel like I can sell it knowing the troubles it will give anyone else once summer rolls around.

I've had almost the whole gamut of codes you've had, but it is currently very intermittent. Only in the summer though. It happened last summer, too. At least I know where I've got to go with it. I've done most of the tests you've done, but I don't have a nice scanner in order to deal with the programming and stuff. Thank you. Been looking for this video for a year or more.

Have the same issue, mine is a lot more intermittent than yours. This one will run fine for the longest time, check engine light will come on and go on limp mode. Car is restarted, check engine light stays on but car runs fine. Been fighting it for 3 weeks now. Haven’t been able to catch it when it’s acting up to condemn the pcm. I will try the heat method to see if I can get it to fail. Very informative video.

had a problem with shifting, wont go into 3rd or 4th gear, at first thought the solenoid pack is bad. I checked the resistances on all the solenoids they seemed ok, I had a code 934 .. I suspected a bad wiring because of low voltage at pressure sender . ran another wire and proceeded to tear apart the harness tracing all wires and checking splices for corrosion. also disconnected the connector going to the solenoid pack, put everything back together and did a test run. everything worked fine after that , however the voltage reading at the pressure sender was only .15 volts, I suspected the temperature circuit may be bad as it runs in series with the oil pressure sender. Checked the resistance on the temp sender it was good 6.5k ohms then decided to replace the oil pressure sending unit with an OEM part.. this fixed the problem, no more 934 code and shifting is smooth in all gears.. sometimes things just don't add up.. shifting was a problem and fixed itself by cleaning all connectors and just pulling the harness bundle apart may have been a loose wire somewhere, but all wires were good, nothing broken ? ??

HELLO! I've watched quite a few of your videos in trying to find an answer for the problem I have in my 2001 Dodge Dakota SLT crew cab four-door 3.9L engine! The truck always shifted a little funny, (after all it is a Dodge)! But last couple of months once it's warmed up and I start driving it trips a code, the P07020 Output Circut Code, Speedometer goes CrAzY and and stays in first gear! Prior to this I have, changed the Transmission Filter and Fluid. I changed the Governor Shift Solenoids. Changed the Vehicle Speed Sensor, (twice)! I reset the computer by disconnecting the battery cables, putting the two cables together overnight then connect the cables and drive it. As soon as it warms up it trips the code P07020, Speedo goes CrAzY and stays in first gear! I suspect I have a bad TCM however I wanted to know in my vehicle does the ECM power the transmission as well or there is indeed and dedicated Transmission Control Module and where is it on a Dodge Dakota? Best, JimiCactus .

I pulled the relay in my 2006 today and pretty much had the same results as you did, it would work for a while when pulling it out then back in then there would be no power until you cycled the key. I took the truck for a drive and monitored the voltage and it would drop from from 14.5 to 13.8 every now and then, it was really quick and it may have even went to 0 and kicked back on, I don't know as I can only tell you what my eyes were seeing. The Trans temp light comes on intermediately and goes out within a few seconds to a minute and it only does it when its warm outside, its only gone into limp mode once about a year ago. I live in South Dakota and it does not happen in the cold months. I would like to see the video of the fix with the new TCM. Do you have a reliable source for getting a remanufactured unit? Great Video.

Have a 2006 with same problem. One dodge dealer, 2 independents, and Cottman threw up their hands. Hendricks Dodge in Cary said replacing some valve, I think it was, would fix it. Then they said it needed a new tcm. Cottman had replaced it early. Hendrick said they programmed incorrectly. Now they say it needs a wiring harness which isn't manufactured anymore. They've had it 1 year now supposedly looking for a replacement. I'm $3000 in the hole and still at the starting gate. Stay away from these folks. They do not keep you informed, haven't heard from them in that year. I thought I'd wait them out, but not sure I can. It'll be interesting to see if it will even start now. Now, the short answer appears to be No, there isn't a fix. I hope somebody out there can point us in a new direction.
