2006 GMC Yukon Transfer case shift motor replacement (1999-2006) GM Silverado, Tahoe, Sierra.......

Replacing transfer case shift motor on my 2006 GMC Yukon 5.3L with a NP246 transfer case. Replacement is similar on all GM transfer cases 1999-2006. Also detailing how I removed fuses to keep old shift motor from shifting on its own before the fix.
2:00 - Pull fuses to run in 2wd if you don't have shift motor
4:10 - Put transfer case in neutral
6:00 - Black widow battle
9:15 - Remove front drive shaft
13:20 - Remove transfer case shift motor
16:00 - Shift motor drop to the head
17:00 - Manually shift transfer case
20:30 - Install new shift motor
26:45 - Install front drive shaft

Thanks to your video I know now what the problem is in my 2005 Tahoe , I replace the switch and never hear the noise when you change from neutral to 2wd, first time using 4x4 so I’m new into this kind of problem

my 2000 gmc is stuck in 4x4 and the push button doesn’t light up . If i pull the fuse and just slightly put it back in and wiggle the fuse i get some clicks and the push button flickers for a second . drive shaft and encoder are removed . Think it could be a loose wire or bad ground

So if my transfer case motor is bad and won’t work in 2wd. I can put it in 2wd manually and remove these fuses and it will stay in 2wd?

Or you could just plug in your new one and put it in 2H and not have to damage those splines in the transfer case shaft. The TREC fuse and the going into neutral via button pushes was helpful. I wish that encoder motor only cost $175.00 now. It's at nearly $400.00 where I'm at. I was considering the encoder ring, a good quality one, instead of the whole unit.
