2006 Hyundai Sonata V6 Throttle Position Sensor

Just a quick video to show how to replace the Throttle Position Sensor in your 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6. While you have everything opened up like this, it is a good idea to replace the Air filter (which I did off camera) and clean up the Throttle Body using a spray cleaner (which I also did off camera).
The list of error codes I got:
P2106
P1295
P2135
P3540
Car started on first try after I got everything put together. I did not get any error codes during the first start or during my short drive around town. Although, that may be due to the battery being disconnected over night. I will check in a few days to see I get any codes again, but I do not expect anything.
Please let me know if these instructions were clear enough for you, and leave improved instructions in the comments for others to see. Also, I noticed this sensor gets used in several other Hyundai vehicles with 3.3L engines. Leave a comment for people to see if this is useful for your vehicle if it is different than a Sonata.

What were the symptoms of the car while the tps was broken ? Did it stall, have issues idling ? Im working on my sonata amd i thonk it may be the throttle or the tps

I was wondering same thing I have an 06 sonata that idles but there's no response when gas pedal is pressed

what made you think the tps was bad? did it just give a code or was there issues with how the car ran? I am asking because I am having issues with my car and believe it may be the tps sensor.

+Rodney Moore The car was sitting for 4 months. When I turned it on, the car would rev up and down without my input. Then I checked the code and got those codes.

I have a 2006 azera and I'm wondering if you can just take off the tps only well along with the air box???

took my car to autozone, they read the same code that you listed. they told me to replace the throttle position sensor and reprogram the engine control module. did you have your engine control module reprogram?

I did not have to reprogram it. My battery was disconnected since the night before so maybe that reset the code on its own. I did the changeover, plugged battery in, started car, all fixed. No engine light, no code.

Hey I hope you see this comment, well I have a 2004 xg350 I changed my pedal accelerator sensor and it’s still stalling out everytime I let off the gas 🤦🏽‍♂️ please help if you can do think the egr valve is bad??

I don't have that car but it could be other issues too. Maybe someone else can respond. But, it could be a fuel pump that isn't able to provide enough pressure. Could be injectors that are clogged. Clogged air filter or fuel filter.

Good video. Did this fix your problem? My wife hit a pothole and is now getting the codes you listed. I'm going to attempt your fix tonight.

Yup, fixed the problem for me. I bought the sensor for $30 and replaced it. I thought I was going to have to reset the code or something. But the code was automatically reset when I first turned the car on. If she hit a pothole, maybe its possible that the sensor came loose?

I have the same car,i was driving and it lost gas power the esc lite came on I pulled over waited it started went 2 miles did the same thing. I fixed the throttle position sensor now it starts revs high give it gas and nothing
